  2. yer i get attached to my tools as well. throwing stuff away is not an option for us tool hoarders.. chris
  3. ya, i think you can sack him for that...he will be hair dressing in no time anyway
  4. yes, your right there, some old 2 strokes with points used to kick back and run backwards breaking the pull starter chord... a mate had a honda trial bike years ago.. it would run backwards too, real funny the first time it happened as my mate was trying to pull a wheelie, he ended up with a fuel tank in the balls chris
  5. just hope the engine does not kick back while your holding the pull cord chris.
  6. my log plie is pathetic compared to yours guys.. donations are accepted i dont heat my house with logs... just my workshop in the evenings across the winter... brrr, being in a metal shed when its 0 outside is 0 fun. chris
  7. these idiots use a chain cutter to cut off your cat. simple way to stop them is to have a few beads of weld put on the outside of the cat leading from the cat to the pipe, the chain cutter will get jammed on the welds, they will struggle to cut the welds too as they are much thicker. if your car has pre and post cat sensors and you remove the cat usualy it puts the emissions light on with newer vehicles. chris
  8. ya, i totally agree or a projects thread, we can make the first bmw 6cylinder chainsaw haha
  9. ahh so he holes are basicaly reversed...thats a shame..
  10. i was hiding in the shed...
  11. its a shih tzu
  12. ok guys i hear you. anyone want a bottle of slightly used homebase "really good" 2 stroke oil
  13. i just took mine out chris
  14. well im not sure what brand of oil i have, or the grade/specs as i bought it from homebase and it dont give any info on the container. all i can tell you about it is, its red and its oil chris.
  15. no its my flying buddies daughter, i asked her 3 times to get out of the shot. she was not listening, too busy dancing around so her feet are there for ever. chris
  16. i would say some engines would need more due to the tolerance in the bore. or maybe what material the piston and liner are made from. thats is alot of oil... is it old by any chance? but i dont know for sure, i am more of a 4 stroke guy. chris
  17. thanks wyk and geoff.... i just removed the spark arrestor and it has started to get clogged allready.. looky.. out of focus but you can see the carbon, i have only used this saw a handful of times. i rarely run it long enough to use a full tank. which is only 400ml on this saw great advice guys thanks. chris
  18. ok so.. i only mix up 500ml of fuel at a time, so am i correct to add 10ml of 2 stroke oil to get a 1:50 mix? thanks, chris
  19. i trust the spark screen is the mesh i can see through the silencer opening. chris.
  20. cool, ill look forward to that.. chris
  21. hey guys, im my saw manual it gives 2 expamles for 1:50 and 1:33 mix. on the fuel filler cap it says 1:40, i allways like 2 strokes to be a tad on the rich side. so, at the moment i am mixing the fuel with the red type 2 stroke oil a tad over 1:40. what ratio would be best? saw is a cs360t mcculloch. thanks.. chris
  22. ahh its ok mate, it was just a few pounds, forget it. you helped me, so consider it me helping you thanks.. chris
  23. yes, i would say it's a bit of ring or spark plug has made those marks. the damage could be removed on the mill using the rotary table to spin the head around, just on that flat face inside the combustion chamber. that would lower the compression ratio too by a small amount, but tbh you dont want to lower it by much or you'll end up with a poorly running bike . so when you say angle are we talking the dished part that leads up to the spark plug hole, apart from that part of the head the rest looks flat from the pic. you could have a shim made to fit inbetween the cylinder and the head, that would also work and if it lowered the compression too much could easily be removed. here is a very small 2 stroke head i did some external work on... the guy just wanted the outside cleaning up after crash damage before.. and after chris
  24. more like 30 or 40 the cutting teeth on the chain would be harder than the links, the links are probably just mild steel. chris
  25. nice work there Python i use a C.K size 2 hatchet for splitting. chris
