  1. thanks gardenkit
  2. thanks all of you, i had a friend turn up who has split up with his wife... bla.. bla..bla.. anyway...where can i get a better bar eddie and what would you recomend? dog spikes are fine so far.. im only cutting through 3-6 inch, and yes i think the chain is either very blunt or incorrectly cut too. graham.. the manual tells me to lift the tip of the bar and tension, the bar is quite loose on the pins... i will sharpen the cutters as one cutter has a chip in that i have spotted.. doobin..yes the manual is great, apart from it telling you to flood it everytime you start it , i only need to press the primer once and 2nd pull it starts with half choke.. i understand your telling me to get a stihl saw.. but i got money off this saw so it was very cheap...much less than a stihl, shame about the bar..and its a husky at the end of the day too .. thanks all.. chris
  3. i can't answer all your posts.. too many too fast thanks guys. i will get this bar flat again tonight and then try it in the morning... it did run low on chainoil the first time i used it.. it uses more oil than fuel so i was not ready for that. im not up the lingo of the chains mate...what you are saying means nothing to me ... guys i got company here... i may be back later i gotta sign out for a bit. thanks alot for all your help.. chris
  4. i refaced the bottom of the bar yeserday because of this slanted cutting, just taken the bar out today after half a tank used and it has got one side worn out a slant the other side is still level... looks like i got a duff bar or a chain problem . it explains why it cuts to a slant... im guessing the bar should not wear like that after half a tank.. unless i did not manage to get it flat again.
  5. i can try a bar reverse tomorrow, a bit late to fire it up now. over cut is wonkey and an under cut is perfect... the bar numbers are 14 91-52 8g if thats any help
  6. thanks for the speedy reply, if i dissapere it will be for dinner, but i will be back.. im in margate so not far at all. the chain is oregon an has 16 stamped on the drive teeth chris
  7. hi all, i bought a mcculloch cs 360t for some light sawing duties (i know what some would say about that saw too ) 1st question is, the clutch, it had oil inside the clutch bell, now do we run them lubed or dry? never come across a clutch without a friction surface so im unsure about metal to metal contact. 2nd question, why does it cut a curve? no matter how careful i apply the saw at 90 degrees to the log, it still goes off to the right and starts cutting a nice radius lol, if i under cut it cuts straight as a die, i have checked the bar for flatness and it is at 90 degrees and bar oil is flowing too. 3rd question, in the manual it says about chain sharpening and shows a pic of a tooth profile that it states has "too much hook angle" but this looks just like my chain straight from the factory so im a bit confused about that. while cutting the saw seems to bite and jerk, cuts for 3 seconds then spits out powderd wood all over me and wont cut unless i use alot of pressure. manual here, look at page 17 http://www.mcculloch.com/ddoc/MCCO/MCCO2013_EUenEUfrEUdeEUes/MCCO2013_EUenEUfrEUdeEUes__115527926.pdf i had the saw for 2 weeks, used it 3 times, it has had 3 tanks of fuel through it so far. thanks guys. chris
