Oil (and heating oil) is priced in dollars... With the pound going down in value it means heating oil will cost more....
Should be a better winter for you log boys...
Talking with my timber supplier about this, this morning ,
he said a lot of the sawmills are also importing timber if price goes up, theyll start using uk sourced again ,tightning up firewood supplies

The saw got packed up today and found......a 12" bar and chain in the box:001_rolleyes: I now reckon that there were a number of slight issues that were exacerbated by a stupidly small bar on such a large saw:lol:
The 365 would be more at home on a 20" and it is now a 372 so 20-24" on that.
Needless to say, it is now tuned pretty fat on the top end otherwise on a 12", it will fail again - I use an 18" B&C to tach saws on the large Husky mount.
The damn thing went bang before I had chance to put a decent bar on it!

I once sold an item on eBay, sent it with parcel 2 go through yodel
Tracking number showed it had been delivered but the signature was a different name
Buyer claimed never received item
Ended up having to refund buyer and lost the item,
I even looked the address up on Google Street view, let's just say it wasn't the best of areas
Used parcel force ever since
-
just turn it off
Or don't put as much in other end

I adjusted my kindlet (the conveyer)a which slowed it down a tad, the size of kindling is bigger but not had any complaints. Still hard to keep up though!
If you slowed conveyor down doesn't it make kindling thinner???
When kindlet first came out the pump used to run slower, then they brought out what I think they called a turbo pump, I can remember getting the uprated kit for mine,
Old pump I kept for a spare
I always think it's the bagging side which slows it down

Cant believe a leaking deco valve would cause an engine to seize, looking at the pictures it has suffered a complete lubrication failure, if no obvious faults found then it looks like poor quailiy or not adiquate oil, pure and simple.
Time will tell,
It's possible that it's been run on poor quality fuel or not adequate oil or both
But not in the time I used it
-
I find many decomps leak and now just lap the things in and apply a little grease when pressure checking. I don't think this by itself will cause a major seize but guess it is possible but not likely.
Any decent tech will check out all the possible issues and then reset the carb to ensure it is running well and within spec.
Steve
Saw is now boxed up and will be sent down to you tomorrow, I will Pm you when I have more details
Thanks again

Just to clarify
I bought the saw in good faith
I contacted the seller to tell them the problem and agreed
A price with the seller for the saw as it is, they have refunded me the difference and I OWN the saw.
The purpose of the thread is to find out why it happened
And maybe save someone else's saw
I could say a lot more,
But it would only derail the thread for those who are interested

This morning thought I'd try to find cause,
Removed fuel line no leaking
Removed carb boot no cracking
Reassembled cylinder, boot, carb
Cut some innertube rubber strips put one between exhaust and gasket
The other between the carb and boot
Put compreser on to pulse tube gave it a little blast of air
Used daughters bubble mixture in hand spray and this is what I found
Let me know what you think
-
For the cost of posting it back, I could easily replace piston /ring
But what else would need to be replaced/tested, to try and stop it happening again
-
There was a tiny amount of fuel in tank, I filled it to about half, fired it up, ran it about 10 min, thought it sounded as though it was running out of petrol
Topped it up but it wasn't empty
Run for another 5min
Compression was good when first started , maybe to good
Cylinder is a mahle, so I think it will be original
But when stripped it, it was very clean round about it no dust, oil???
After that ran 254 on same petrol, same wood and a 2" bigger bar rest of day
-
Yes through PayPal, see what happens
Pity though, nice saw
Think it would be worth repairing,
-
Feedback 96.5%
Two negative in last twelve months,
Is a refund given after goods have been returned or before,
Might say never got it returned, then no refund, no saw
-
The seller will say you used bad mix or old fuel etc etc but its worth a punt
That's what I think
but to h**l with it, he would know it wasn't right
So I've messaged him, cheer him up a bit!
-
It had crossed my mind,
-
You are open to some options now like fitting a 372 top end and carb .......
Ha, I would do it in a minute
But need to know what happened first
