  1. i once left a lad netting logs in a full day he couldnt even manage 60 nets, told him to get finished as man was picking them up after 6, as i was going up road i saw his car pulling out behind me ,

turned round back to yard to find he"d just gone home 3.30, so finished them myself, rang him later and asked how many was on pallet, as customer had rang playing hell that id done him short and had he finished it, said he coudnt remember how many hed done,

last time he worked for me

  2. How many hours a day do you expect these guys to do this?

It seems to be all about looking busy.

My guys walk everywhere but they work hard till I tell them to stop.

Some days we finish as 12:30 or 1:00 then we go home.

    Work hard, work smart -

    Remember the bullock?

'dad, let's run over to the field and service a cow'

'No son, let's walk over to the field and service them all'

i think you may find it was a bull :laugh1:

  3. This is exactly my point, you are working in one of the most dangerous industries there is and you lot are worried about a gentle jog back from the chipper.

Christ, seems like I am the only one who wants to get on.

A brisk jog back shows me that they are wanting to get to get on in this business and they are keen to impress.

A young lad should have energy to burn. I am in my 30's and when I lend a hand to my mates business I work my butt off.

Guess you either got it or you haven't.

    HERE HERE!

I TOTALY AGREE; i have lads help me , and they will stand with phones, stand and yawn, sit down if you let them, and most of them couldnt see a job if it landed on top of them,

the amount of times you can tell them what to do, leave them two minutes and thell be standing behind you looking lost

i know a man in his late 70s still laying concrete, and he will tell you to run , and if you go for something to eat he"ll tell you not to sit to long ,

some off these lad wouldnt last a day

  4. 1, if return spring brakes on 37x wind a chain link down spring you can do it without taking it off and away you go

2, front track rod ends on 2wd tractors, if cup comes off ball, cut an old tractor inner tube into a gaint rubber band , put one end over top nut and stretch it over and under until you run out of rubber band and stretch back over nut, it will keep the track rod together but the rubber will give you plenty of give to be able to steer , i have a 655c digger thats had one one 18 month!

3, if you snap the little bobble bit off a throtle cable , use a pin out of a 3 pin electirc plug , one with the little brass screws

thats all for now before the HSE land at the door :001_smile:

  5. i"ve owned a kindlet for 10yrs my machine is stamped no11 , it proceses 25ton a month,

all the round wood is cut to 6 1/2" through a haki pilke 37x

everthing is split up 16" dia ,all the knoty logs are netted but end ways on; so you look at log ends; whitch stack on pallets much better, its had 2 oil pumps an odd bearing and a bit of welding last month

    cant really fault it

  6. That ud work.

Manouvering it into the correct position surely a bit tricky though.

    PS

    Might need a fatter ram:lol:

    PPS

Secretly jealous cos I haint got a digger to play wi:001_rolleyes:

    cheers

    marcus

    hello marcus

to be honest it can be a bit tricky on"t digger

, if you look close you"ll see that theres a matbro face plate on digger front, it far easyier to use on tele handler, but i"ve no pics of that ,

i think the ram holds a drum of oil
