  1. And when you think most of that pre modernization was designed by some bloke in the 1800s with nothing more than pencil and a spirit level!.
  2. Before we get hung up on the term mechanic, was this a mate or an actual business. For one I'd cut a little slack but, didn't we have this a few weeks back being a fuse hidden under the switch mechanism allowing it to crank but not start ?
  3. Did you atleast keep the old coil ?
  4. Think your accountant is correct, they say from the point of application. Not done it yet but was told to either bite the bullet for those invoices as you can't really ask for more, or tell them at the time include the vat and reissue the invoice when the number came. Best asking the accountant as you can't ask for more after being paid.
  5. What's wrong with a A2/A4 stainless bolt into the tree, pretty cheap, personally I'd say two directly down the middle. Anything galvanised is asking for trouble long term, firstly the zinc then the steel corroding. Plus if it's oak you really need a non reactive metal such as stainless, or a building would be preferable.
  6. Ukraine, but it's not listed on their website. The more you look you just see different names, slapping a sticker on other products. Watch a few videos and see the different company names, stickers as it takes you down the YouTube rabbit hole. So it'll be Chinese, imported and bought via Alibaba or alike. Ukraine, Poland etc might be low wage countries but they can't compete with a Alibaba special at say £500
  7. And where do you think all these "makers" buy their machines?
  8. Sawdust in your under crackers is never nice tho.
  9. I was more making a point to Peds. Bit like the tractor fine today for having a child in the cab.
  10. There is no way on gods green earth would a branch logger pass HSE
  11. Plenty of similar ones on eBay Landlegend Branch Logger WWW.EBAY.CO.UK The latest edition to the Landlegend Collection the New Branch Logger. Designed for compact tractor 25hp...
  12. But is it fair trade?, when I'm processing firewood it definitely doesn't feel like it.
  13. Personally if I wasn't in a DEFRA smoke area I'd buy a cheap chip boiler from Poland and enjoy having my feet up. I've not tried such fuel in a Eco Angus, but you'd have to size the bags or fill as you go. I've burnt firewood offcuts from emptying cages and heaped in the boiler from a wheelie bin with a shovel.
  14. Go watch Kamala without an auto cue, wasn't she also wanting notes for the presidential debate ?. Or maybe the recent Facebook admissions including the FBI and that mysterious laptop. Anywho, just to prove the air in my bubble is fresh air and not your patchouli oil smelling farts, I might go see what the betting odds are for the Donald and put down a few quid. Paddy power has Donald and Kamala on the same 10/11 odds
  15. Because the MSM types are all pretty much anyone but Trump. Same with most high profile actors & celebrities, zero clue about actual policy or how the world works as they all live in a bubble. But trump probably has the military vote after his jab speech.
  16. Everyone raves about them on YouTube, then they seem to go almost radio silence about it afterwards. Personally I went pto chipper, salvage what's usable and everything else gets blasted. Prefer rocking up in a field and removing most of a tree, leaving just a stump at most, would love a grinder but I'll let nature it that 🙂
  17. I'll be 1st to say it makes terrible fuel. Save your money and chip it
  18. Granted you can use the argument for all industries including cars, tractors and microchips. Whilst not necessarily knock offs, they sell the die and manufacturing equipment to the competition in say Japan and china for a tidy sum once it's say 5 years behind your current product. Everyone benefits, whilst you're loyal customer base buys the newer and usually better products. The special sauce is usually how it's machined and metallurgy rather than just a patent
  19. Plus you don't actually need to own a shotgun to have a certificate. But it's good for the grandkids, when you fancy a rare day out with the clays. Makes borrowing or using a club gun or relatives easier. I'd actually recommend anyone with kids to get them a certificate, as soon as possible as it makes section 1 easier with history.
  20. Personally, yes it's a faff but better to keep it active just incase the mood changed 🙂. Even a crusty old shotgun isn't costing more than a couple of hundred quid every 5 years.
  21. It's more a check of your records than an actual medical. Whilst not a legal requirement, the FEO have pretty much made it a default requirement even more so for Section 1. Usual blame shifting I thinks, since 2019 approximately as in the past they just asked them to say something. But, usual dr's unless it's a few quid they won't say so made it another form filling exercise, providing your ok and not on antidepressants or migraine meds they'll have very few questions. Get a digital copy and keep it too. Plus some drs can refuse to do it.
  22. Whilst at the same time everything else gets more expensive and things don't increase.
  23. Granted if they're paying for digs you usually get an allowance for evening meal, breakfast if it's not included in the digs plus lunch. Think my lot gave £20 for evening meal and maybe a fiver for lunch and breakfast. If you're only away for 2/3 nights that's not too bad, I had a lot that wanted us in Livingston for 10 days straight. We lost staff like flies, me included as there's only so many hours of netflix!.
  24. I'd try hooking up a small 1000w heater or something around the house to see how it fairs. But a small pump is only going to give you a few hundred litres a minute at zero head
  25. So charge what you would for a 3/4 days ?. Double pay is 2 days, plus 1 for recovery, plus the cost of the road stuff.
