  1. If the news is to be believed the chief EU negotiator is the next French president. So along with Labour, Starmer and now Barnier, is it just a matter of time before they over turn things ?.
  2. Would a underperforming battery be a good call ?. Yes I know the alternator is running but you know how modern electronicals can be
  3. @Jase hutch or give them a call
  4. Why is nothing off the shelf ever good enough for you, without having to bodge or modify ?.
  5. Whilst that might be the stock saw arrangement, I'm sure if I walked into mine tomorrow. He'd pick a 261 & .325 bar off the rack and a 18" full chisel chain and change it without any questions and give me my usual discount without a second thought.
  6. Step into my hot air balloon and we'll discuss the price or is it more a real world action man style parachute demonstration?.
  7. I'd change dealer as he's talking sh1t. All older 261 were .325 as standard, mines still running old bars and 18" with more power than I can shake a stinky stick at.
  8. Or just buy another Hyundai special, no doubt they'll sell the engine set on its own for a 150 or there abouts. What's the point in bodging, or bite the bullet and buy Stihl or Husqvarna. A Stihl KM engine is only around 250 and atleast in the future the petrol & battery stuff should be interchangable.
  9. Just look for a ride on lawnmower main dealer. Stiga, Stihl, Husqvarna, Mountfield or any of the UK manufacturers. They all use similar engines, if they can't fix it we're all doomed.
  10. Think the solenoids are powered open from vague memory, usually a white plastic plug nearby. When running disconnect that and it should stop almost immediately as I don't think it's a fuel shut off, more a jet isolator. If you're not mechanically or electrically minded might just be easier to get a lawnmower place have a look, it's the same engine fitted to tonnes of lawn tractors etc.
  11. Personally I'd strip the carb before messing with the coils and clean all the jets etc.
  12. I'd be more inclined to clean the DPF as you've changed almost everything bar that without any improvement. If you've a manometer, you could confirm it's low at tick over and higher at rpm. YouTube is your friend, as I'm guessing it's probably also fuel injection into the exhaust instead of adblue ?.
  13. Think my guy said put something like vat number pending. 3 weeks isn't bad it was suggested it could be upto 6 depending on time of year, these days they should be able to do it immediately. It's a old system for registration, but that's HMRC, think half of it still runs off 70s I ICL computers looking at the website login.
  14. And when you think most of that pre modernization was designed by some bloke in the 1800s with nothing more than pencil and a spirit level!.
  15. Before we get hung up on the term mechanic, was this a mate or an actual business. For one I'd cut a little slack but, didn't we have this a few weeks back being a fuse hidden under the switch mechanism allowing it to crank but not start ?
  16. Did you atleast keep the old coil ?
  17. Think your accountant is correct, they say from the point of application. Not done it yet but was told to either bite the bullet for those invoices as you can't really ask for more, or tell them at the time include the vat and reissue the invoice when the number came. Best asking the accountant as you can't ask for more after being paid.
  18. What's wrong with a A2/A4 stainless bolt into the tree, pretty cheap, personally I'd say two directly down the middle. Anything galvanised is asking for trouble long term, firstly the zinc then the steel corroding. Plus if it's oak you really need a non reactive metal such as stainless, or a building would be preferable.
  19. Ukraine, but it's not listed on their website. The more you look you just see different names, slapping a sticker on other products. Watch a few videos and see the different company names, stickers as it takes you down the YouTube rabbit hole. So it'll be Chinese, imported and bought via Alibaba or alike. Ukraine, Poland etc might be low wage countries but they can't compete with a Alibaba special at say £500
  20. And where do you think all these "makers" buy their machines?
  21. Sawdust in your under crackers is never nice tho.
  22. I was more making a point to Peds. Bit like the tractor fine today for having a child in the cab.
  23. There is no way on gods green earth would a branch logger pass HSE
  24. Plenty of similar ones on eBay Landlegend Branch Logger WWW.EBAY.CO.UK The latest edition to the Landlegend Collection the New Branch Logger. Designed for compact tractor 25hp...
  25. But is it fair trade?, when I'm processing firewood it definitely doesn't feel like it.
