  1. Unfortunately it looks like plastic in there! No head just a blank 👎 Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. Pics of top and bottom of carb, it says walbro on it and a pic showing the position of the throttle barrel Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Will let you gents know tomorrow evening. I pulled one of the jets that was under the gauze, which was under the needle valve and float. Perfectly clean, there is some other kind of brass thing in the middle shaped like flower if that makes sense, I'll try and get that out. As for the throttle slide, it is a plastic barrel with a needle which slides inside a plastic tube in carb. As for the adjustment of the needle, I can't see anything, only thing that is on the top of the carb is the clamp which holds the throttle cable, when the choke is engaged it does lift the throttle barrel a few mm which then drops when choke released. Idle adjustment rotates the barrel to reveal / hide the hole in the throttle barrel. Hope that makes sense Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Apologies for the screenshots. This carb is identical Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Did that this evening pal, stripped down and blasted with carb cleaner, the gauze under the float needle was gunked up but still to no avail! unfortunately no access to a compressor. The carb is non adjustable except for idle speed. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. I bought a very cheap non starting homelite blower, just wondering if anyone can help me out. I've got spark, and changed plug Fuel filter fine, Fuel lines good. Primer bulb good Plug slightly damp after pulling. Will only fire on easy start and cuts out in a millisecond. Any tips? Thanks Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. Had a pair that lasted 7 months. NOT happy for 199. Think the ladders killed them in trimming season last year Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. I was told on my 38 to give 3mm difference between hitch cord and climbing line. I currently climb on 13mm xtc fire with a 9mm marlow boa cord tied into a distel hitch climber setup. It does tend well but has a tendency to lock up now and again. I also use the same cord/knot when climbing bigger trees using 11.7 rope. It's a marlow rope, could be aeris. This tends beautifully but the only downside I find the rope too bouncy. As said above reccy climbs, trying cord/lines in arb shops and hitches etc make all the difference Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. Friend of mine had a small unbraked one with mesh sides and drop down ramp. Only things that went wrong were the uprights for the mesh sides broke causing them to become loose, and rattling and banging like hell. And the axle broke, but that was purely because of weight. A pallet of rock salt 😂 Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. One thing I can say from personal experience is that the husqvarna/msa fittings (ear muffler and visor) are better than the Peltor as fitted to the stihl helmet I used to wear a while ago and my current lid. The Peltor ones have small springs which keep the visor up which in my experience pop out and are generally weaker imo Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Don't go all out buying fancy stuff right now. Maybe as a basic list No risk/haix blue ridge chainsaw boots Stihl economy/ sip boxer type a Husky ground helmet Oregon chainsaw gloves All above I have worn and are comfortable enough. Of the two trousers I currently where sip boxer, bright red 😁 but too hot for my innovation 2 at the mo. Regards Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. In my opinion, i'd rip the block and box out sell separately and weigh the rest in. Looks like the truck could end up being abit of a money pit, when was the last mot? Any paperwork? If I was keeping it I wouldn't bother with a tipper, maybe some kind of hinged bed or something that a telehandler or forklift could lift up to tip? But that depends if you have access to one, All the best with the project. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. The kits battered, part of tree work I suppose but It pisses me off having haggard gear that doesn't work so I use my own. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. I buy my own trousers, and get £100 towards boots ( the no risk boots are 99, but I put 80 towards meindl) I always use my own climbing saw, climbing gear, and ground saw sometimes. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. At my place I'm the only one PAYE. I earn 85 quid a day, I climb, drag, trim, rake up, chip whatever. There is another climber who is self employed on 100 a day as soon as his feet are off the ground. I don't agree with the wages as such, I mean Fridays 1st job was knocking a limb off encroaching on a building that took around 2 hours. He climbed. The rest of the day I spent knocking 14 Connies down to 8ft from 40 in a 3 tier garden with green houses and part rotten wooden retaining walls underneath. 85 quid. The whole wage balance between ground/climb is awkward. You could break it down again, imagine a massive takedown with a 10ft drag to the chipper, and groundies are expecting mega pay? Or a small tree removal with a nightmare drag? Climbers expecting top cash? It's really awkward to find a nice wage imo Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. I don't think it's an imitation as such, they have said it has passed test etc but I'm going up later to hopefully exchange, I'm not happy with the quality, do I have a basis for an exchange? Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. It's a dragon pal Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Also have spoken to dealer and they have assured me it passed all the tests, but I'm still worried, have they tried one with such bad uv fading? I had a 4 year old petzl helmet that unfortunately fell off the van 😁 but as far as I remember hadn't faded at all. Also this helmet keeps loosening itself off, is there any way of repairing it? Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. This is a brand exclusive to a local dealer. Its their own brand. If I'm honest it looks an exact copy of a kask plasma. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. That's a brilliant idea! Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. Hefty fine! Do you need a ticket for a stihl saw? Thought it was just.to change the blade, maybe the competent blade guy wasn't around that day but as long as the blade isn't messed with.... Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. I have a 3 month old climbing helmet that has badly faded! I'm abit worried about the plastic and generally the overall quality, do I have a basis for return/exchange? When new in may, the orange sticker was just about visible. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. In fact I've never had one since first job at 16!
  24. Been here 4 years. Yeah I get payslips showing deductions. Never brought up the idea of a contract to be honest. Thanks
