  1. On my old one it had a torque setting but my new one dont seem to have will have to have another look in the manuel
  2. Hi on the new hm130 max theres a diagram that shows you where it needs to be but it will not stay there.
  3. Hi Lez you are right but I wrote that just as I got the butt on the mill ,but the mill is vibrating a lot and since I changed the band the tension will not stay the big handle was vi rating loose ,any ideas

Hi so I have been looking for a small 12inch planner thicknesser for a while I only have £350/400 to spend on one and just cant seem to find one on ebay there are loads of ads for this Lumberjack stuff anybody had any used anything by them I was thinking about maybe getting one of their planner thicknessers Thanks Mark

  8. Yeah I think both a stop block and some nice greenheart log stops that fit in the square holes I have cut the tops off those metal ones a few times ,Thanks Guys as you can tell still finding my way with bandmilling
  9. They only seem to burrow into the bark layer not like those even more orrible ones I always find under the bark and into the sapwood on Oak similar looking but the ones in the Oak look like a cross between a ragworm and a big maggot ,I did move as many as I could without killing them .

I got shut in a steel cupboard and wheeled in the bake oven when I was an apprentice so the next day I welded the mateys sreel toecaps to the bloody steel cupboard half way up the door he was there for ages with a grinder and ended up with a small bit of door stuck to his boots he then shut me in the pit a rolled a car on top I cut the legs on his chair in the break room it just went on and on you had to have your wits about you thats for sure ,I love a good prank

Well said K ,Hi Lez I got myself a static phase converter its the biggest one the make I think its 9k it cost me a grand but it runs up my big thicknesser fine ,the only thing is I wish I could have got a rotory converter I did a massive amount of reading and talking to people the only diffrence is the static converters will only run 1 machine at a time and the rotory ones will run 2/3 machines at a time but thats reflected in the price give Pete at Transwave Converters a call he is a font of info number is 0121 7084522 Cheers Mark

Hi Khriss I have a big old curtin but its so F###ing heavy that even dragging it along the yard is hard work I need something easy and quick to deal with , on tuesday I was cutting the last of some WRC for the small Est I look after and I took the top off one of the log braces a stupid mistake it cut all the way through it ,got home and my box of ripper 37,s was leaning on my back door,got monkey puzzle and walnut lined up next

  19. So got a bit of a shock when I rang Axminster Tools and they quoted me £180 for a chuck kit I sold my old lathe for £50 and was hoping to use that for a chuck but no chance I was surprised at how expensive it was but hey I got to get one

  21. Hi Saul you are totaly right maybe we could just come up with a few pages of do and dont and then advertise on sawmilling directory those of us willing to do lessons at least then we would mostly be all saying the same we prob would anyway but just a thought
  22. Um as for the legal issues for trailers before I got my old mill that was on a trailer we had a thread on hear all about it and in the end I rang the dvsa and a firm that sell trailers and quote under 750 kilos no paper work is needed
