  1. Yep, they should add that to the user manual. cheers
  2. I started mine exactly as suggested in the manual yet had starting issues. I found the saw started much better after sinking it on continual full throttle into a big lump of hornbeam. Cold or hot start, I never use the decompression valve. Now running on Aspen. cheers, steve
  3. My 2013 550xpg was also a pig to start from new, it took loads and loads of pulls to get it going. After a couple weeks of use it was fine. Cheers, Steve
  4. Looks pretty slow to me. Better off feeding it in manually. cheers, steve
  5. I dob of butter rubbed in well, leave it for a while, rub with a cloth, followed by warm soapy water.
  6. I've been wanting to make a pole-lathe. Does anyone have a link to some good plans? Cheers, Steve
  7. They are pretty much a Jack Russell crossed with a Fox Terrier. cheers, steve
  8. We've been looking to get a Parsons Terrier but haven't found any local enough yet. Even Bristol would be local enough from the most Westerly point of Wales! (Pembrokeshire) cheers, steve
  9. Why not flush the toilet with it as well? Cheers, steve
  10. Is the Rye chain oil better than the Oregon? cheers, Steve
  11. Is cheaper to buy 25 litres of Oregon chain oil at FR Jones.... Oregon chain oil 25 litre | F R Jones and Son
  12. But they are/ and could also be charged with renewables. cheers, steve
  13. Thanks teacher!... that's a great intro. I already knew about Rudolf Diesel but not Akroyd Stewart. I've also read that biodiesel (or true biofuel) results in less harmful emissions and also a higher performance..... so it'll be interesting to find out if that's part of the problem? (at a guess). cheers, steve
  14. We're all bright eared and bushy tailed for diesel education...

It's much worse ripping it out and rolliing up!
  16. Got for it!... Would be good to hear
  17. How did you reach that verdict? cheers, steve
  18. Both are worst and neither contributes a positive solution. cheers, steve
  19. It's a practical way of dealing with the problem.... and if it results in far less vehicles in the city that can only be a good thing. cheers, steve
  20. Was about to mention the same. cheers, steve
  21. Hi Jon, yeah, I'm not saying other vehicles are better/worse.... but moving out the way of the exhaust is a good idea! Your experience is actually a good example of what is happening in our cities.... some days there is nowhere to escape the fumes (unless you get out of the city). Cheers, steve
  22. But how many would actually pay £100?.... it would stop the majority of people driving in.... so their plan could be working. cheers, steve
  23. That's why I mentioned retro-fitting. cheers, steve
  24. Hey Jon, this isn't about dismissing old landrovers.... modern diesels also contribute to these harmful emissions. The trouble we have is that there are so many diesel cars on the road nowadays and all that pollution put together is affecting people's health, especially childrens (asthma, etc). Something needs to be done. Cheers, steve
