Yes, Looks similar to some of the Giant Hogweed photos I've seen on the Internet. cheers, steve
  2. Hey Jon, whilst you're designing your off grid passivhaus you might want to include an off grid solar PV package into the design of the roof.... I'm no expert on solar PV but apparently it's more efficient to go for a 24v or 48v system (depending on the size system you need). I've read that some people regret going for a 12v system when they want to upgrade at a later date.... it's something to do with the cable sizes & inverter spec, I think. Check out Bimble Solar for an idea on prices: http://www.bimblesolar.com/offgrid/offgrid-house Cheers, steve

  4. Hi Jon, you'd be looking at about £380 for the Milwaukee 18v Fuel cordless drill.... that includes 3x 5amp batteries, charger and case. Milwaukee M18CPD-502C 'FUEL' Cordless Percussion Drill 'FREE Battery' cheers, steve
  5. I've been using a Milwaukee M18 fuel drill for a while now, done loads of jobs with it - it's superb and the 4amp batteries last ages before needing a recharge. Also got the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 190mm circular saw; that's also an excellent bit of kit. cheers, Steve
  6. Yep, they should add that to the user manual. cheers
  7. I started mine exactly as suggested in the manual yet had starting issues. I found the saw started much better after sinking it on continual full throttle into a big lump of hornbeam. Cold or hot start, I never use the decompression valve. Now running on Aspen. cheers, steve
  8. My 2013 550xpg was also a pig to start from new, it took loads and loads of pulls to get it going. After a couple weeks of use it was fine. Cheers, Steve
  9. Looks pretty slow to me. Better off feeding it in manually. cheers, steve
  10. I dob of butter rubbed in well, leave it for a while, rub with a cloth, followed by warm soapy water.
  11. I've been wanting to make a pole-lathe. Does anyone have a link to some good plans? Cheers, Steve
  12. They are pretty much a Jack Russell crossed with a Fox Terrier. cheers, steve
  13. We've been looking to get a Parsons Terrier but haven't found any local enough yet. Even Bristol would be local enough from the most Westerly point of Wales! (Pembrokeshire) cheers, steve
  14. Why not flush the toilet with it as well? Cheers, steve
  15. Is the Rye chain oil better than the Oregon? cheers, Steve
  16. Is cheaper to buy 25 litres of Oregon chain oil at FR Jones.... Oregon chain oil 25 litre | F R Jones and Son
  17. But they are/ and could also be charged with renewables. cheers, steve
  18. Thanks teacher!... that's a great intro. I already knew about Rudolf Diesel but not Akroyd Stewart. I've also read that biodiesel (or true biofuel) results in less harmful emissions and also a higher performance..... so it'll be interesting to find out if that's part of the problem? (at a guess). cheers, steve

  21. Got for it!... Would be good to hear
  22. How did you reach that verdict? cheers, steve
  23. Both are worst and neither contributes a positive solution. cheers, steve
  24. It's a practical way of dealing with the problem.... and if it results in far less vehicles in the city that can only be a good thing. cheers, steve
