  1. Just to put the record straight, you did not receive "nothing but good feedback"... and this thread proves that fact: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/news/93276-piranha-chainsaw-chain-press-release.html The Piranha (aka Rotatech) chains I bought from you were nothing like the same quality as Oregon. I feel people are being mis-advertised.... as a result my trust in these crud chains was lost long ago and there's no way I'm putting second-rate chains on my saw again. In fact, chances are that I wont order anything from you again.... (thats just the way the cookie crumbles). It would be interesting to start a 'Rotatech chain review' thread on arbtalk to hear what the real deal is with these re-branded ones. cheers, steve
  2. By time I need a new chain I'd also be wanting to buy something else so I'd be looking to get it all at once to save on postage. Last time I ordered chain I bought it from you Rob, along with red grease, marking crayons, a dozen files and whatever else. Oh, and a thin felling wedge. cheers, steve
  3. Are you using the Chinese mill (Alaskan) for making those blanks? I'm going to be cutting a load of those for making end grain flooring blocks.... dya have any top tips for cutting them as accurately as possible? cheers, steve
  4. Heya InLeWoods, yeah i'm good thanks mate, silly busy on the farm but getting on with it - we've been missing you on the saw... hope you are okay. Yeah, your video is pretty accurate!.... could also include a close up video of the damage the Piranha (aka Rotatech chain) did to the side cover of my 550xpg. I haven't snapped any of the Husqvarna/ Oregon chains yet so i guess the more expensive chains arent as good; because they are more expensive- whereas, after years of using cheap Piranha (aka Rotatech) chains you can save a massive amount of money and just buy a new saw to replace the one the Piranha (aka Rotatech) chain chewed up. The power of advertising eh!! cheers, steve
  5. Ref: Piranha chains rebranded as Rotatech Chains. Has anything changed about the quality?.... the Piranha chains I had were rubbish. Other reviews on this thread: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/news/93276-piranha-chainsaw-chain-press-release.html cheers, steve
  6. errr, sorry, I wasn't joking. cheers, steve
  7. Haha! I've met and chatted with Oliver Letwin a few times. cheers, steve
  8. With hindsight I think those that said Corbyn would be gone within 6 months might have been a tincy, wincy, tiny bit wrong. As for splitting the Labour Party.... it was split years ago when a bunch of Tories hijacked it. Good to see the Labour 'reset' button has been activated & given time it will prove to be a very positive opposition, I reckon. Cheers, steve
  9. That looks ace. I particularly like the one with the twisted line that runs along the top.... is that done with willow stems?.... I guess it isn't planted. cheers, steve
  10. SteveA

    550xp

No problems with mine at all. cheers, steve
  11. I ended up buying an Etesia Pro46 PBTS mower, a used one. Not a ride-on.... just a self propelled/ single speed walk behind. None of that hydrostatic nonsense! I've been very impressed with how well it's coped with our long, really long, soaking wet grass. cheers, steve
  12. There's a bunch of woody sculptures at Scolton Manor inc a 'sword in the, um... wood!' You probably already know that. I think they look much better in real life than in these photos, but gives an idea of vibe, ish: Visitor Centre & Sculpture Trail - Culture 4 Pembrokeshire cheers, steve
  13. Lol! That's hilarious! cheers, steve
  14. oh dear! I think Ian has done a swastika! cheers, steve
  15. That's great & helpful, thanks. cheers, steve
  16. Could well be that, he was pretty vague about it. I got the impression he was talking about dunking them in a pond for a while; in murky cow poo water (kind of thing). Thanks for the link.... gonna read it proper. cheers, steve
  17. I've not milled any oak myself, yet. Have had a couple of friends mention how naughty oak can be whilst drying out.... twisting, shrinking, cracking, splitting, etc. Was on a job a couple days ago and chatted with a farmer who mentioned some people keep milled oak dunked underwater for a while to help prevent those seasoning problems occurring. I've not heard of this before. Interesting idea - has anyone here tried it? cheers, steve
  18. Honey fungus.... Original Bramley apple tree in Southwell is dying - BBC News cheers, steve
  19. ah, thanks. That makes more sense why some are so cheap on eBay..... I've not bought one to repair and happy to ditch that idea! cheers, steve
  20. Great thanks. That's not as bad £'s as I thought it might be. Is the hydrostatic unit supplied with the gearbox? cheers, steve
  21. Are used Honda HRX mowers with drive faults DIY repairable on a budget?.... confident I have the skills to do the repairs myself but I'm wondering about the cost of replacement parts.... cheers, steve
  22. How many cc's is that one?.... if you get one, do let us know what it's like after a bit of use. cheers, steve
  23. I've got the Portek head fitted to our Florabest and the vibrations seem to be okay, normal.... at least it is normal when compared to the standard bump feed head. cheers, Steve
  24. I glanced over the Etesia website earlier today, yeah they are a fair amount of wedge, but bet they are ace. cheers, steve
  25. I'm not looking to buy one.... gonna nick one mate! cheers, steve Haha! That looks awwwwesome. Problem solved. cheers, steve
