  1. I know that mud and snow tyres will give a little extra grip to the transit on grass but how much damage could I expect to cause to a lawn? Obviously I don't want to damage clients lawns but is it better than slipping and leaving marks or dragging and walking x hundred times on the lawn?
  2. Does anybody know where I can hire a tracked chipper for the day in the Basingstoke, Hampshire area and an approximate cost? Thanks

  4. The thing is I can take out the harness, wash it and put it back in but am not allowed to buy a new harness and put that in?
  5. Does anyone know where I can get a spare harness for the inside of this lid? A small piece of plastic has broken and I've been told by Lyon that no spares are available due to H and S and end user fixing it. Seems a bit off to me as otherwise we have to replace the whole lid.
  6. Never discuss hours with clients as they are paying for job not an hourly rate. If they want to I can give them an hourly rate! As for school runs it can be done but you may find jobs take longer, roll into the next day and end up costing more. I tend to do school run some days after setting the guys up or twice a week with the other days "normal" hours.
  7. Used them for about 3 years now and it certainly has helped with new leads. New clients can easily see the feedback you've received and some of my clients have based their decision on that alone ! The only small problem I have found, and it was talking to my clients about it, was that they seem not to give negative feedback for other trades they have had in and do a poor job. Potentially long term this may mean everyone has great reviews, no matter how good or bad the job was done. Having said that I would recommend them for advertising, its worked for me. And if you do not have a website, your home page on their website can be used as one.
  8. Branch failure looks more likely from a wind event/weak structure. Its a big tree with lots of end weight on the branches.
  9. Thank you for that. It is a very large tree with a history of branch drop. I know it's hard to say but in terms of tree health is it really detrimental ? Best to just keep a watchful eye on it?
  10. Can I have some help please with identifying this fungus on the front on this large Oak please. It runs for quite a way up the tree but the biggest group is around the 'ring'. Could it be dangerous for the tree ? Thanks in advance for any help.
  11. The cars underneath the conifer were fine but there is a hole in the roof and dormer window. No-one hurt as someone was asleep in the dormer room.
  12. Got a bottle of wine for telling someone they didn't need to have their tree pruned just because their neighbour did.
  13. Definitely worth the money. It gives a much more even heat distribution around the room and helps it go out the door and up the stairs. The only place ours doesn't work is on the boiler stove because the heat goes more into the water jacket around the stove and so the top of the stove doesn't get hot enough to work the fan.
  14. Could some ID this for me please. It is on an Oak down in Cornwall. Thanks.
  15. How about Buy Hultafors C375M T-Block Combi Hammer from Axminster, fast delivery for the UK
  16. Thanks for the warning. Can't be seen from the road so thats OK. And it looks over a field of cattle. I've told my neighbours (all 2 of them) and they all want to come and play in it anyway ! Now I just have to convince the wife ...
  17. Construction begins 3rd June. Taking a week off work to do it but I bet the phone goes crazy between now and then as the sun is shining ! I'll post pics as it happens.
