  1. Hi there. I'd also like to have some sort of a price for an abalone inlaid bowl please, if you could PM me SB? 6" diameter and 2 - 3" deep perhaps. Don't really mind what wood it is as long as the grain is attractive? Thanks.
  2. Thoughts with you, Chris. Fingers crossed.
  3. Some sort of ancient Villager woodburner (I think - was in the house when I bought it). I'd guess I've got through about 3 cube so far this winter. That's just regular evening fires, longer if we're in at the weekend. Log burner only really heats the living room (but gets it good and hot) as the drafts seem to stop the heat from carrying to the rest of the house. Lucky I've got gas central heating and hot water too! Does make me think though - it's a reasonable amount of effort to keep the log burner fed as it is. If I move somewhere more rural and try and use just wood for heat and hot water, it would be a lot of work. I suppose a more modern burner would use less wood, but even so...
  4. Ahh, I see. I thought you meant to sell for craft / green woodwork use. Ha! An upside down helicopter would also make a great wood splitter, and could be used to fell standing wood!
  5. What would you use a 25cm willow whip for? Too small for weaving...? Good luck with that helicopter! Where would you fit the PTO?!
  6. Jealous! Sounds like a great plan. Trying to do something similar down here, but land is very expensive. Looks like a good grant scheme too... I'd love to see some pictures once the plants go in, and perhaps over time as they develop? Best of luck with it.
  7. Are you sure it doesn't have an adjuster screw? Even my cheapy S&J chainsaw has one. I leave it alone as it happens, and it gets about 1/2 - 2/3 through a tank of bar oil to a tank of fuel.
  8. A Jimny? Excellent choice if so! Trying to find somewhere local to test out the 4wd on mine properly..
  9. Right click on the link, choose "open link in new tab" or "open link in new window". That's on a PC with Firefox, but most browsers have a similar option these days.
  10. Handsome tractor! Can't find any for sale in the UK though...
  11. Anyone had any experience of mahindra tractors? They seem cheap for their spec...
  12. Oh wait, I think I get it. Hydraulics lift the arms, but the bucket doesn't have hydraulics - when you trip it, it empties everything and won't reset till you put it back on the ground. Yes?!
  13. So what lifts it up if not hydraulics?
  14. What's a trip loader? Surely it's still powered?!
  15. Thanks BE. I do like the looks of the one in your avatar (and I'm impressed it's a Ferrari!), but I'm not sure it would be quite up to the job...
  16. I'm listening! Go on then, what is it? And is 25hp enough?
  17. Thanks. Yes, I'd like to see pics if you have them handy... Cheers.
  18. Ahh, shame! Looks like it could be a bit of comedy fun! Not at 2 grand though...
  19. I did find this, looks quite fun! Not as useful as an actual tractor... http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=281235874219
  20. Thanks all. Too much choice! Carpenter, which of yours do you prefer and why? I'll go and look at zetors and john Deere's and try and get hold of a copy of tractor and machinery magazine too...
  21. Thanks gents, sorry to hijack OP!
  22. Thanks all. There's no hurry, as I said it's early days - so I'll definitely try and get to Shaftesbury. Thanks.
  23. They do look good though! But that is less important than it working well...
  24. Thanks, that's useful. Seems I have a lot to learn! I'm assuming eBay is not the best place to buy? They seem fairly pricey on there. I will go and have a look for farm sales etc. near me.
