The internet at its worst, didn't even read a line of that post, I am a volunteer firefighter myself, I attend at least 3 chimney fires a year ( most of which are out by the time we get there). Send a fireman out on a creel boat in a west of Scotland winter for a month or two, he'd be running back to his station as quick as his legs could carry him!

You can argue till you're blue in the face, money + greed will rule the day, it will kill, make misery, make happiness for some, of course there are many without money who are happy, not enough!! If you have a few "with" and many "without" you tend to get some unrest. Just saying.

As an aside to this serious debate, our crappy council had a half hearted attempt at verge cutting last year (which is fairly important on single track , very busy roads) no attempts this year so far, this year has seen local volunteers having to cut the grass in the graveyards as council are not doing them.
