  1. It was a good forum, now everyone is posting about logs, trees, chainsaws, chippers etc! Wtf!
  2. Good post genset, life can be very short indeed.
  3. A Range Rover sport.. Is that what we should all aspire to???? Bell en.s
  4. Yep, renewables are a good earner for the wealthy, paid for by everyone, including the very poorest in this country, ridiculous really!!
  5. We pay income tax to keep our country in order, our buses and ferries running and people in employment, why dairy farmers have been singled out to be shafted is beyond me! Maybe dairy farmers have to pay for House of Lords!! Nah! There's not enough dairy farms.
  6. Just keep boiling the kettle and pour it in.
  7. Didn't think £8 was out of order for 8hrs parking, certainly not cheap but not the dearest part of the day, not heard of any cars gettin done over, too many attendants about for that to happen! safe parking as far as I can see!
  8. Was there on Friday, plenty to see. Saw a boy going up the "wee stick" in 13 secs! Can you beat that? Think his name was Ben lightfoot, he had football boots on with spikes on the toes, very impressive.
  9. You cut it down, then find a saw inside it! Must be your lucky day.

    Ragwort

Pretty much sums it up I think. Some of it suggests sheep are slaughtered early in their life, don't think that's the case, when they become long in the tooth grazing is impaired and welfare becomes an issue.

    Ragwort

I see where you're coming from, just horses then ragwort gets a start, lack of grazing( verging, rail side) heaven for ragwort!! Bit of a dull day here, midges horrendous!!!! Although that's the first day I've felt them really, been cold upto now.

    Ragwort

Not sure that horses are put in overgrazed paddocks! They usually get the best of treatment as far as I've seen! An undergrazed paddock is more likely to have ragwort IMHO.

    Ragwort

Maybe the horse owner in question called it tansy when they were in "ragwort denial":)

    Ragwort

No idea! As I said maybe the young plant has very little toxicity, need a biologist to come along and enlighten us:)
  18. Mull

    Ragwort

They don't live long enough, and would only eat small, new growth usually, maybe not as toxic. But where there is sheep there is no ragwort generally.

    Ragwort

Sheep on in spring, they'll graze any new ragwort growth and keep it gone.
  20. Think it may have been Simplesawman that made the discovery! Aspenarb probably just searched it after being told what it was like I did, and was about to post same pic aspen did! Hope I'm not doing aspen a disservice!!:-)
