    I see where you're coming from, just horses then ragwort gets a start, lack of grazing( verging, rail side) heaven for ragwort!! Bit of a dull day here, midges horrendous!!!! Although that's the first day I've felt them really, been cold upto now.

    Not sure that horses are put in overgrazed paddocks! They usually get the best of treatment as far as I've seen! An undergrazed paddock is more likely to have ragwort IMHO.

    No idea! As I said maybe the young plant has very little toxicity, need a biologist to come along and enlighten us:)

    They don't live long enough, and would only eat small, new growth usually, maybe not as toxic. But where there is sheep there is no ragwort generally.

    Sheep on in spring, they'll graze any new ragwort growth and keep it gone.
