  1. Bob Yes still running the FL6, bolster body in its embryonic stage. (Only in my head at the min). Thanks for the offer, don't often go to your neck of the woods but I might make a special trip to come and "fact find" 👍 Cheers Rich
  2. That looks like a good bit of kit. What are the plans for rustproofing her Bob? I'd love to come and have a look one day, steal all your ideas and then make my own. 👍 Keep the pics coming.
  3. Not yet. It has gone to the back of the queue for the moment.
  4. Nice one.
  5. Thanks for the advice. Through and through it is. What size stickers would one suggest?
  6. Some pics of the walnut. The Jesus creepers are not included in the conversation 👍
  7. Hello all, Took down a dead walnut yesterday. No turnout of foliage this year but still had sap coming out of the large wood when we cut it. It forked into 2 stems at around 10feet from the ground. I have 2 sections the dimensions are roughly 10foot long x 25inches tapering to around 15inches and a slightly smaller lump. All 3 are pretty straight and probably uneventful inside. With the information I've given above could anyone help me please? 1. Should I wait a few months or mill it asap. 2. I'm not sure whether to sell it or keep for my own use. 3. If I were to mill it for future sale what would be a popular thickness. 4. Should I think about letting some go for sale, where would anyone suggest offering it up for sale. Thanks in advance for any useful help with these queries guys. Hope you're all enjoying the weather. Cheers Rich
  8. Peace of mind even.
  9. An ass puckering climb up this one. I added the belt and braces for piece of mind. They didn't help😳
  10. Typically it's the short bit which is the problem.
  11. Typed before I read that properly. We welded a bit on and whacked with sledge to no avail. A slide hammer might be an idea. Thanks. Keep the suggestions coming. 👍
  12. We tried that. Pulling my hair out.
  13. Hi all, any helpful advice for removing a cab torsion bar. 1 of them snapped so we removed the splined end. Can we get the square end out? Can we f**k. We've beaten it, heated it and swore at it. Nothing. Any ideas chaps? Cheers Rich.
  14. Nice.
  15. I had thought of that option and it's still a possibility but I'm weighing up all the pros cons of the different options. In my simple mind it would be easier to lift one complete body on/off in the long run. We'll see.
  16. Look forward to it. Some nice close up shots please. 👍 I promise not to steal any ideas.
  17. How's your timber wagon shaping up Bob?
  18. I guessed that if I could find something already made it would be easier to alter that, than try to make one from scratch. Just need to keep my eyes open on the net etc and hope one comes up for the right price.
  19. Unfortunately not. Was hoping to just lift it on and off aided by a little bit of swearing.
  20. Could anyone offer some advice on where to start looking for an old flatbed to turn into a bolster body? Been trying the usual internet searches but turned up nowt so far. Anyone got on lying about for sale???cheers Rich.
  21. Proper "man time" now. Looks great, I'm very jealous. It's exactly where I'm heading though, so down to me now to get it done.
  22. I'll have to start patrolling other people's yards !!
  23. Where did you pick up the flat bed body? Looks like a good quality quick fix to moving lengths. I like it and am going to steal your idea, hope that's ok and there is no patent pending😉
  24. That's what I was wondering. Not criticising, just curious. I don't use a zz but is that safe? Anyone?
