  1. The operator assesment was nice just set up a work site, nice and steady just have to remember all they had told you. The supervisor course I did was alot more writing (3 Hours worth.)
  2. I run a country park and have a problem with people taking logs that we have processed for sale. When I say taking logs I don't mean two or three I am meaning trailer full loads. we have gates to stop vehicles but they just bring a wheel barrow after we have gone home. When I have approached them in the past all I get is I pay my council tax. Nobody can understand that it is classed as stealing. The police in the past have gone to peoples houses and exp[lained this. Now I look it all away.
  3. I use a compact tractor with mower and then a mini baler to do our community orchard. If you want to come and have a look, its just the south side of leicester give me a call on 0116 2572888.
  4. The Word from the FCA is that they would like to role it out to all saw users. HSE are watching to see if it can be implemented. I have to agree with Donald from the FCA on FISA, Having spoke to a couple of training providers regarding this nobody from FISA has been in touch to explain it and having looked at the website it looks like a money spinner. I'm all for keeping up to date and the HSE has always stated the refersher time scale. I don't see why a group of large companies should be dictating to others about levels of training when the contracted prices are made so low. Sorry for the moan but it really is starting to gripe. Sorry again.
  5. Thanks for that
  6. You could pick up a new lucas barrel for £5 from the delightful ebay, or we just used a screwdriver in the 5000 we had. Not the answer you asked for but just my opinon. :-)
  7. Sorry should have said between 8am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday.
  8. Hi Guys, I am looking for individuals to carve an owl for a Leicester council in a twelve foot red ceder truck, it is just a standing trunk. Carving is to be 2D. If anybody would like more details give me a call on 0116 257 2861.
  9. I have to say when I went out on stop and searches it was the dids that I concentrated on, but that was because I knew where all the conifer was going to end up. Did get a good result in that I managed to sieze their vehicle and return it to the rightful owner eventually. In response to harvey it was advertised back in 2006 but mainly to waste ad scrappieys.
  10. It depends on how you look at your business activity. The definition of wast is anything you wish to, need to get rid off or cannot be used again for its intended use. Its £190 for the first time and it lasts for three years then £90 for the next three years. You can apply on line at Environment Agency - Home . For tree work its a depends on who stops you but timber can be re-used as can chippings. Its not classed as waste as the company that cuts a tree down is a producer therefore you can legally carry your own waste arisings without registration. Only a problem if you go out like a skip company and collect somebody elses waste. The Environmrnt Agency enforce it and Like to do stops with the police and vosa. If you want to know more PM me. I was an Enforcement officer for the Environment Agency for a few years. Sorry to bore you or anybody else reading this.
  11. Could it be a sticking check valve. you know what I mean the valves that if a hose burst stops you falling to the floor but they also control decent, sometimes get blocked if the oil is dirty or as they get older they stick so slow to release the pressureised oil.
  12. Ta john, but I think I'm going to be allright now, spoke to the fitter today he got all excited about using the new welder, he ran off looking for steel and a pencil and paper. happy days. Thanks for the photos garth mc garth sorry to hear about the visitors at your place.
  13. Any pictures Garth Mc Garth? It would help with the design process.
  14. thats cracking thanks LGPeddie, job is in leicester but will probably just get the welder out and have a bash at something a bit similar to your picture but on skids. cant to be to hard and there is a bit of scrap around the yard that the caravan club haven't seen.
  15. When I spoke to them they were not keen on putting limestone through. but thanks for the thought
  16. Thanks eddie, Paths are already created just over laying onto them. Looked into paver to start with but a couple of companies were asking daft money for man and machine, a couple of companies offered a cheap rate but made up for it on transport.
  17. thanks lads much appreciated, thanks tommytopsoil couldn't for the life of me think of the right name for it.
  18. Thanks Bigdave will have a look. we use the trailer tailboard now but have got 3km of 20mm-dust to lay.
  19. Hi Guys, Does anybody know or has seen a stone sledge? I'll explain what I mean. Its basically a large sledge pulled behind a tractor that lays stone at a defined depth and levels it. You fill it up with a trailer and keep going like that. I used one a good few years ago but I cant remember who built it. Any Idea's?
  20. Theres plenty of cranes that could do it, its wether you can prove stability of ground and get access? If its working on the road and over houses youd be better talking to a company and have a full contract service so you don't have the responsibility.
  21. Went in to Halfords two weeks ago to get a key fob remote battery. Young lad said we can fit that for you. I said great saves me trying to get my fat fingers around battery. Lad takes battery cover of takes battery out. his boss comes over and tells him off for offering to do it for free, then says to me that they couldnt do it as it may stop imobiliser working if they were to slow, followed by this was the lads first day. when I pointed out the battery was still out, he went a funny colour stuck a new battery in and said I m sorry sir we are closed. didnt pay the £4 for battery cause they were closed. Immobliser fob is for a Case tractor. (aftermarket fit) works even better now it has a free battery in it.
  22. Same here. I could get one for free out of the woods at work but she won't have it.
  23. Dont think I would trust it on the back of my truck. Looks like a toy my sons got for the back of his pedal tractor.
  24. Try Devon 4x4 they might be able to help you. don't have contact details but they have a website.
  25. Allright guys did they mention the carrier agent used in glyphosate. my understanding of glyphosate is that normally the carring agent is the nasty ingrediant that cause alot of the problems to humans.
