  1. Yes mine is not quite like that. There is a frame fitted to the tub which has toggles to hold the cover at the front and 3 rails much like in your link but they locate in the frame. I think you will need 3 rails or a lot of curve on 2 to stop pooling on a single cab cover
  2. Sounds the same as I have. Never seen it for sale though so have you a link? If it's the same then yes it works well. The bars stop pooling of the water on the cover. My bars are now a bit slack in the track and can drop out putting the cover on but still work and could well be as old as the truck so 10 years old.
  3. Love the radiant heat. You just cant beat a flame. Hate the cleaning up all the dust from opening the door and the mess that falls through the log basket.
  4. Wouldn't have thought so but it's proved much tougher than I thought it would be for such a light feeling fabric. Apparently they do do repairs here in the UK though. I am not normally one to be such a fanboy but I am in this case Repairs and patching from €40.00 (depending on garment & damaged area) Replacement back panel €55.00 Jacket main zip replacement €65.00 Pocket zip replacement €40.00 Single side leg zip replacement on trousers €60.00 Shortening legwear from €65.00 Lengthening legwear €80.00 Garment body alterations €75.00 Hood replacements made to order €60.00 Professional clean and re-proof service €40.00
  5. Haha that's the way to win him over
  6. Seriously Mark just get a Paramo. The Alta 3 has pretty much perfect reviews these days https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/paramo-mens-alta-iii-jacket-p371213 I have the older smock which admittedly can leak a bit around the front pocket but the fabric has always been perfect. Never come home properly wet when wearing it and clearly the Atlas does not have the front pocket problem. Gortex is great when new but over time it just gets worn being a thin membrane thats bonded to the fabric. The waterproofing on a Paramo is something you re wash in so age should make no difference to it's effectiveness. Does it even rain in Kent? Thought you only got 50cm of rain a year try the best part of 2m here on Dartmoor
  7. As you say nice log. Wish we had perfect lengths of American Black Walnut in our fence line. Probably got squirrel gnawed Sycamore on ours haha
  8. If this is the case can you stick a thin packer on the reference side to centre it? Might be off the other way of course.
  9. Just speculating here but for it to be exactly right for both sides of the chain would require the pivot of mechanism for the tooth angel to be spot on in the middle of the bar. As the grinder gets used on different width bars it wont be perfect on all bar thicknesses. As I say this is just speculation from seeing how grinders work
  10. I dont climb so probably shouldnt comment but looking at both of those it does make you wonder about some folk. First one the tree is clearly dead and so the hinge is more than likely to snap. Showed Mrs Woodworks and she said the same. I get that it might be a bit iffy to climb higher to give the line a better chance of doing it's job but it's your life on the line so why risk it. Second one ermm is that piece a tad too big? ?
  11. Whether or not you would be able to get away with non compliant logs as a log seller I dont wish to be breaking the law as a matter of course. Much rather have rules that encompasses the natural range of properly air dried logs ie up to 25%. As has been said elsewhere most decent stoves will run perfectly well with logs up to this limit.
  12. Rob covers it all pretty well on his video
  13. Each to there own I guess. I would not be worried about my mixed fuel for a couple of months at least.
  14. Steve you are confusing me here. First off you say there is nothing wrong with supermarket fuel and then say you use Aspen to avoid problems? I dont know for sure if there is any difference but what I do know is using Texaco I have never had a fuel related problem with any 2 stroke or 4 stroke engine. I mentioned to my local repair guy that I had never had fuel problems and the first thing he asked is "where do you buy it" I told him and he said " thats why"
  15. I was hesitant but desperate at the time. It's only used for the worst days but stood up well. No tares to date having had it a couple of years. Worth remembering we get 1.8 meters of rain a year so money spent on quality waterproofs is not wasted.
  16. This stuff https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/290886759897?chn=ps. Fixed a few tyres around the farm with it. The tractors front right has stayed up for several years after trying this.
  17. Might make you hard to pick out from the crowd. What you need is a properly waterproof jacket to put smile on yer face. Bet if asked on here you might get some advise on whats good........
  18. Ah but thats him up a tree he might be grease lightning walking the dog?
  19. Your a bad man Steve but no not had the pleasure of meeting up yet. You up the APF this year Mark?
  20. Maybe you spoke too soon ?
  21. Not tried the jacket but the usual problem with sailing jackets is they dont breath as much as walking jackets. On a boat you are pretty much stationary most of the time and they are designed around this fact. Brilliantly waterproof but you get wet from the inside!
  22. Total convert to the Paramo after years of Gortex. Gortex is great when new but as they get older they tend to breath less so you end up wet. The Paramo breaths better than anything I haver tried and all you have to do to get it back to new is a wash in Tech Wash and TX10 Direct. What finally swung it for me was chatting to a chap that had damaged two panels after years of use sending it back to them in the UK for repair. £60 for two new panels, sorted. I have one for work and one for everything else. Might fail on the too bulky?
  23. No it's Texaco only but never risked supermarket fuel anyway.
  24. Texaco. Same price as advertised plus points which equates to a 1% discount.
  25. Get a fuel card. You get a monthly receipt online. Saved me a fortune in lost receipts.
