    Stihl MS 201t

Hi chaps, I have a 201 in std form, nice and strong. My mate runs a 200 and his is much more instant where as you have to spin mine up a bit to get it past the initial slow uptake. Im just getting used to it but my question is how can I make mine a little more instant on power like a 200 without going out to buy a 200? "How do I tune it up?" all the best

    ms 290?s

Hi, a ms290 was my first saw. Guys at UPM who cut all day long suggested it for me as I wanted an occasional use saw with guts. The sort of saw which starts when you want it and has some balance on a 16, without being a handful to use for an hour or 2//3rds of a day.I thought about selling that but Its been great with no probs and I keep this on the van just incase I get one stuck... I use mine for rough jobs, hedges and horrible stuff. Solid and strong. However, if you want something to use all day, most days then go for a ms260/261 if you can. Lighter and the 260 can be all the saw you could want for 75% of the time. The 261 is a flick able non too heavy saw on a 16" too. hope that helps, good luck
  6. fantastic pics, especially standing in whats left!

  8. OK thanks, I thought the worst. I have had a 290 from the word go and its not missed a beat or presented any probs....
  9. Hi, my lovely saw, squealed when I fired it up after its monthly clean and sharpen up, oh dear I thought but then no further probs. A short while later I thought I had better check the needles as I forgot to grease, so in I went and to my horror they fell apart in my fingers. My mate had one of the originals and had so many problems with his as his needle bearing lasted approx 4 hours. I did ask when I bought this a year and a half ago if still had sorted this out and I was assured that it had been. I just wondered if anyone else suffered this problem?
  10. thanks v much for the advice chaps

Try Adam at farm and forestry. He builds sheds/offices which are secure solid waterproof and heavy duty enough to outlast us all. I use mine for an office in my back garden. It looks great too. Will send pics if you want. All the best Nathan

  17. Hi chaps, what would you go for if you worked on small stuff, domestic garden scrub, leylandii and fruit tree branches. I am fed up with smashing it up in the trailer with my bigger saw to mulch it down. My budget isnt big £2-3k. CS-100 or a 125 timberwolf. I van the trailer around and dont have a 4x4 or similar as yet. Thanks v much Nathan

  22. Dear all, I haven't been going long as I started off as a gardener and then wanted a proffesion, so went into tree surgery and soon realised that I was making a loss giving away all the wood I was felling. I have a friendly farmer helping me with storage, the bags are sitting outside under blue tarps, but I can't keep that lot there and not make anything! I have tried locally by advertising, everyone in south birmingham wants wood (being in a smokeless zone) but they dont want to pay for it! Can anyone give me a starting point as what to do with it as I keep adding to it as the jobs come in,or indeed want to buy this lot? Its currently near Bentley, Atherstone Warks.
