  1. Turn it into a remote controlled log cutter.....
  2. Why not sit the lad down without kev and ask him what's up?? Maybe he just needs to know your on his side and want to help him......Other than that I've heard jeremy kyle is quiet at the min.....
  3. spot on lol
  4. Excellent reply mate......
  5. I'll say it in simple terms then......climber climbs tree and sends it all down to the ground.....groundie then cuts it up, drags the brash and carrys the logs to the truck......who's had the hardest day?? Why is one worth more than the other??
  6. And just to clarify im not on about someone you get in just to drag brash and sweep up the saw dust!
  7. JMO mate.......If a climber is a competent climber then he should be as comfy up the tree as the groundie is on the ground......a climber has gravity on his side, a groundie don't and still has to clear the brash/logs that the climber sends down so a hell of a lot more graft involved....a groundie has less stress/responsibility??? Sorry can't agree on that either!! Imo a groundie controls half the show from the ground while a climber controls the other half in the tree.....its a 50/50 effort and i see no reason why one deserves more than the other.... FYI no im not a groundie, im a self employed contractor and as it happens price up quite a lot of tree work.....the climber I use gets £125 a day and so does the groundie.....They both bring there own saws, PPE etc and for £250 a day between them i have piece of mind that BOTH tasks are carried out correctly, safely and in good time.....again JMO.....
  8. Maybe your the problem?
  9. I can't see why a groundie should be on any less than a climber tbh
  10. ....pm sent!!
  11. Charging!!.....like I said I'm just putting it out there that I'm starting up with this so just after advice! Yes you might be able to tip it for free but getting rid of 14 tonne off site in 20 mins is the service im offering and that my friend is not....
  12. That's not good mate!! Can't see that happening here tho.....the guy putting me through only brought the other lorry as he is turning work down as can't physically do it on his own!! After only 1 pm off here tho it don't look like we will be adding arb waste to the list......
  13. It's probably been said but "it's let the light in" is a classic
  14. When anyone asks me what type of tree it is I always say "a wooden one"......
  15. When loading the truck up after working on the job in full view of the whole street for two days and someone comes over and asks "do you cut trees down"
  16. "Was it meant to land in the garage"
  17. More than likely travellers who are working in the area, do a load of shite jobs, steal loads of equipment and rip off as many OAPs as possible then leave the area with your name/business tarnished???
  18. that's it mate! Crazy really but fair play to him he even went up after a few pints.... says in that one he got £4500!! Probably decent money back then but put 4 zeros on it and you still wouldn't get me up there lol
  19. I've said on here a few times that I'm no climber and i fully respect you lads that get up them trees day in day BUT how many of you could do this with using the same equipment...... I honestly felt giddy just watching it..... no harness, no flipline, no helmet, no spikes, no LOLER tested main line just a wooden seat on a rope..... He had balls as hard as the cast iron his steam engine was made of!!!
  20. Yeah they are useful tools mate..... that job was a taxi that got left in a backyard and then the owner built a shed infront of the gates.....doh!!!

    Overloaded

A rubbish clearance job back in the day when it was £40 a load at the tip so used to get as much on as possible..... Double decker transit......
  22. Cheers mate never thought off biffa ill give them a try!! Yeah I no most will already have homes for logs/chip just thought if they needed a lot moving quickly this lorry might be of use?? I know bosworth to and like you say them and a few others only move dirt/hardcore not really seen many with green waste on?? I'll get the word out and see what happens! !
  23. Ive got my HGV medical in the morning and when that is out the way I'll hopefully have this lorry on the road around x-mas time..... a mate of mine has this and another one so ill be working for him but he has also said to me I can find my own work so thought I'd ask on here of it would be of use to anyone around burton/derby area and what sort of prices would be competitive and reasonable??? The tip we use charges around £45 a load on brash so I was thinking around £200 a load of brash....logs we would store, chop up and sell so was thinking £120 a load on them and £150 a load on woodchip as that would have a sell on value to....does that sound fair to you lads?? I've worked it out on the fact you would get nearly an 8yd and a 5yd skip worth of waste on this lorry as it can carry 14 tonne!! Be honest with me as that's why I asked.....cheers
  24. Was just a dirty fuel filter.....
