  1. Of course it’s been the same for years, I’ve listened to it for years. Even had it played by the Black Fridays who were our wedding band! Black Friday Home - High Energy Folk & Celtic Punk Rock - Cornwall WWW.BLACKFRIDAYBAND.CO.UK Black Friday are a high energy folk and celtic punk rock band from Cornwall in the United Kingdom Its the same sh1t every year. Just like the dog in the Dambisters. Every year the same from the BBC, every year the same ‘outrage’ from Victor Meldrew. It’s become as ‘traditional’ as turkey & stuffing. ??
  2. Didn’t they learn ANYTHING from f*ing around with LoHaG? Morons.
  3. That’s quite funny... Imagine how corrupted the data would become if 1 person ended up with 4,5,6 chips in 1 body. I like the idea, but there wouldn’t be enough examples of such corruption to make a serious dent in the mega data. pauses - realises - even thinking / taking part in a discussion about nano chip human tracking is another step towards normalising the potential ?
  4. Now then.... Is that comment directed at the Egg for claiming fresh & hot is better than stale and cold (not an entirely inappropriate maxim for life in general) or is it directed at me for suggesting you still reside in the Kingdom of Deheubarth? Either way, it's a bit harsh you miserable old barsteward. Of course we all remember the days of beer tokens for left over tarmac and the youngest daughter offered as a sexual favour with the hairy assed drivers in exchange for road planings. All I was suggesting was, those days at least within most of the UK, are long gone. This can be seen with even a cursory search for planings throwing up County council and highways accredited schemes for the sale of recycled materiel. Cornwall, with it's entirely questionable 100% County council share owned 'private' contractor (Cormac) as the preferred bidder on all CC road jobs pretty much has this angle sown up. That said, I would entirely agree that planing can still be a relatively cheap and often readily available choice. As to the discussion of hot & fresh v old & stale I don't really have sufficient knowledge to comment - other than to be suitably horrified and seeking my safe space by the suggestion that a generous dousing of red diesel might in any way be appropriate in these more 'enlightened' times. And, I wouldn't be so bold as to question the scale and nature of any transactions you might be able to secure in your local hostelries, nor the currency of preference ?, I was merely seeking to highlight that which passed for 'normal' in previous decades has gone through something of generational change. I'll leave it to the Egg to decide if you were calling him a dick, I'm sure he'll be on best behaviour. If it was intended as a retort to my earlier disparaging comment then I withdraw it unreservedly. ?
  5. Where are you Les, the Middle Ages? (Is it Wales? Similar thing ?) The days of having the left over tarmac from a road job and planings for beer money to the driver are long gone. Planings need certifying to a certain level free from contaminants and they are treated as a saleable commodity these days.
  6. Shared access and mutual maintenance costs? Always a drama ? Slaughter them all and bury them in the new road!
  7. Like Egger says, tarmac likely to have a hefty price tag but reasonably quick to instal and no big delay in use after laying. Any way of making a temp access route that would allow light traffic for a short period whilst a slower to instal but cheaper than tarmac option was laid down? - prob enough money saved to lay down and take up a temp access (803, Woodchip?) and still have money left over. Depends on space etc obvs. What about a granular confinement system (web cell) and loose infill? Id try anything before tarmac, it’s expensive and not great environmentally.
  8. Poured concrete might be an option Craig. Easier than planing/prep for tarmac - just as durable but you can do it yourself rather than needing hot boxes, rollers etc. Plus you could do it in sections with expansion joints doing just as much as you’ve got time for and not have to worry about potentially unsightly joins as you might have with tarmac. Our neighbour did exactly that over 2 fields (about 600m)
  9. Who asked you what your having for tea Mr Cropper - as you were ??‍♂️
  10. That’s the trouble with you Army types K - blind obedience to orders - whistle blows, up and over the top you go into the machine gun fire and certain death in the Herculean, but entirely futile, effort to move General Melchet’s cocktail cabinet 3 inches closer to Berlin.... The Senior Service tends towards more lateral thinking to get the job done ?
  11. (OP) Return it unpaid! The answer lies unreservedly in the caravan solution! K is a charlatan!
  12. What a crock! Get the caravan parked up ??
  13. The answer ‘should’ be right out of the Labour play book - especially the recent Corbynista edit. State benefits delivered in direct services and housing rather than in cash. Communal housing, community heating and eating, vouchers where necessary - no cash. The ‘solution’ is a communist dream - can’t understand why Labour are so obviously opposed to any / all attempts at welfare reform.
  14. Can we save them for LD3? Something to look forward to lioke ?
  15. Your definition of ‘balance’ disturbs me K ? You found a one off example akin to a punch up at a family wedding - everyone is welcome and invited but you can be sure a Scottish uncle will take a drop too much and start a rumble. It’s not quite the same. Al-Aqsa Mosque is like The Pegasus in Aldershot - if you ain’t ‘in’ you ain’t coming in!
  16. I listened with interest to the first female Imam on t' wireless t'other night. A female Imam ? and openly bisexual to boot ?she has a mosque in Berlin and wants to establish one in the UK.... What would be the odds on her premature departure from this mortal coil? Head 'accidentally' severed from her body in a freak shaving accident? Buried under a couple of ton of 803? Mysteriously falls from high building? Freak gas explosion?
  17. I find it matters less who writes it (so long as you know their potential agenda) than what it is that is written. Last time I visited Jerusalem the only barrier to visiting the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was the crowds. Not so with the Al-Aqsa Mosque, it was the oppressive, armed guards and tangible resentment from people of the "peace loving faith" that presented both the physical and psychological barriers to entry... In this reportage, it seems that those barriers are being extended beyond the infidel to include those (possibly more moderate) members of the Muslim faith that have the temerity to acknowledge the right of the State of Israel to exist. The PLO - making friends through the generations....
  18. Pants down, legs spread, negat lube! They are pretty savage given a sniff of irregularity.... Former BHS owner jailed for six years for tax evasion WWW.BBC.CO.UK A court heard Dominic Chappell spent the money that was owed on two yachts and a luxury holiday.
  19. Muslims: Al-Aqsa Mosque Does Not Belong to Palestinians WWW.GATESTONEINSTITUTE.ORG These Gulf Muslims are also demanding an end to the Palestinian "monopoly" over the Islamic holy site in... And yet people still cling to their student union, sandal wearing, hippy notions of an oppressed Palestine... Beggars belief really.
  20. The ‘likes’ and ‘laughs” for that one reads life a membership list of the 50 and above thread ?
  21. Crikes Sam, you’ve potentially opened a can of worms with that one ? Stubby’s building up a head of steam as we speak ???
  22. Educate, educate, educate! Highlight to the school and provide a basic info brief - a fantastic education opportunity. That would be in an ideal world at least. What will probably happen is there will be a hysterical (albeit futile) attempt to remove and eradicate the ‘offending’ article. Reminds me of the hysterics that followed when a child was ‘suspected’ to have eaten deadly nightshade. Tell & show children what is dangerous rather than constantly trying to remove the potential hazard.
  23. It’s been around a while, but it’s genuinely brilliant:
