    That’s what I try to do, and have spare belts on hand to reduce down time.

    I did this last year and would really recommend it. Chris is a great ‘real world’ instructor who does what he teaches. Edit. And it’s a really cheap course, so it doesn’t break the bank to stay overnight at the venue.

    Not saying that ain’t true Mick and I understand that that a cup of coffee in Starbucks can’t be compared to buying a jar of coffee and a pint of milk in Aldi, but some companies mark ups are beyond reasonable. Buying belts for chippers and grinders, some of the local hydraulic suppliers are 4-500 % dearer! I’d love to support local businesses, but they usually don’t stock what you want, take longer than buying online and then have your trousers done and spank ya ar@e for the privilege

    I’m sorry but disagree. That means that the tree would gain a right to trespass or encroach over anothers land if abating the nuisance caused harm to the tree?

    Second that, I believe the veteren tree initiative have a checklist and if the tree has a certain number of characteristics on the list then theoretically can be classified as a veteren They do, I had a quick search on my PC but couldn’t find it.

    Veterans have features or characteristics. An ancient tree is one that is old compared against the normal range of that species. So you can have young veteran trees, if they have cracks, fissures, decay pockets etc, that provide niche habitats. An ancient tree may have veteran features, but a veteran tree is not necessarily old.

    Take photos as you go Generally as you split the casing something catches and everything just falls out. Then after a couple of hours of reassembly - trying to put springs and things in places that make no sense, it seems a good idea to disassemble another saw to see how it all works. You then have two saws in the same situation.... Allow at least a weekend for this simple task and prepare for tears.... My advice is either let someone else sort it, use the choke to turn it off or buy a new saw Joking aside, it's not difficult but can be extremely fiddly and frustrating.

    I was going to add that, but wasn't sure if 'pissardi' was a synonym or a variety. I've seen it written as Prunus pissardi and as P. cerasifera 'Pissardi'. So knowing that there are those even more pedantic than me (no names), I omitted it until I had chance to clarify my understanding Anyway Mr B, shouldn't you be doing something productive on a computer somewhere?.....
