1.
Hi Nick how much for a load to cv23 0sh

2.
Hi I am 5 miles from Nuneaton... would be very interested

3. £100 seems very generous.... and on top of that you are offering to help load. I could probably take the wood away for nothing and instead of paying me, if you just make a donation of £50 per load to a charity of your choice... That way we both win and can feel good about ourselves. Ohhh ..... help loading would be appreciated.
4. I don't have a transit. Could you express this in a different way meter cube/ton etc?
5.

What do you want for the softwood cord?

Yours David.

6. Will do.... and thanks all
7. I don't cut much wood say around 20 cubic meters per year. What would be a reasonable, reliable 20"(ish) saw?
8. Your right she has.
9. I live pretty close and may be able to take the load (South Leics).... any idea of the weight etc?
10. Now I am a little sad and feel that if the bark is more waterproof than a cut face I should have the bark on top (to shed any rain). Obviously this is only a worry if the wood is exposed to the elements... In my case it usually is as most of my drying is done out in the open and even when I put it in a shed it has slatted side so wind and a bit of rain can get in. As a result I would agree with difflock.
11. We all have that issue .... eventually.
12. Agreed.... Sharp file can = sharp saw.
13. So that will be........ no
14. I am quite close to Nuneaton... if you are unable to work things out with Alycidon I would be interested. David
15. As a youngster I did a lot of cooking on an open fire (with the girl Guides) always thought of Rhododenddron as the very best wood we ever used. Burned fast and very hot. Dried really easily. Happy days.
16. I have 3 chainsaws ..of which one is a little stihl 180 14inch bar lightweight easy to carry and work with spot on. Easy to maintain yourself cost vey little second hand (in GB anyway).
17. Hi I feel there are a few clues in your question. 1. South of France... obviously a load warmer than GB.. as a result I expect you need less wood and that means that you could consider hand tools. Another factor is that if the weather is better there may be less need for you to take advantage of good patches of weather and you can cut you wood at a more leisurly pace. 2. Small trees... again says less wood now this is good because were you to get a chainsaw you don't need to spend a fortune on a brand new monster that has a 4ft bar. Have you considered a small (12-14 inch bar?) chainsaw? They can be quite cheap and very reasonable if you are not having to work them too hard.
18. Well if you were in my part of the world (Midlands) I would have a load or two from you.
19. If ypu go on EBay and look up Fiskars Spaltaxt X27... you will need to change you search criteria to anyone who will deliver to the UK.... You can still buy them for about £65.
20. I would agree.... bought one as a result of this thread.... Dead chuffed I did.
21. Please forgive me but I am of course new to this forum and indeed to buying cordwood. I am trying to source a supply of cordwood for a wood co-operative. We are looking for a large lorry load of wood delivered to near Lutterworth Junction 21 M1. I need ideas of price for green or seasoned... although we would prefer green. Many thanks David
