Looking to fill a few more days here and there. Am in south Norfolk area. Climbing kit, saws, rigging kit, Ppe. If your not a corner cutting, hotheaded, saw throwing idiot and like to have a methodical bravado free day using common sense rather than blind panic and rushing give me a shout. Krabs

Rock o hitch end and rock d on lanyard, same on flip line. Ultra o's on hitchclimbers. Rock exotica pirate on rope wrench. Wish rock exotica had round noses tho. U shaped dmm are far better than the key hole things.
  6. Brave posts lads. Takes a lot to say all that. I'm 31 had depression on and off since 14\15 yes old. Dad gave me and sis a chemical imbalance. Cheers dad. Anyways point is I spent years on and off an citalopram etc and it only covered the prob like drinking or sniffing stuff did. Took it upon myself to conquer it thru avoiding stuff that triggered it. Stress, crap mates, birds that weren't worth a wank, work, drink and drugs. I know accept that every month I'm gonna have one or two black days, its hard but I'm personally better off the pills for sure. Eating well and sleeping right defo helps as does taking time to have a deep breath in the morning and laugh at everything. Keep ya heads up fellas there's loads of us nutters about in the tree game, think its half the reason we can use saws at heights?? All the best to you all.

  8. Trouble is you're happy to start your career off on a wage like £8 but you'll always be wondering if the grass is greener. With big companies it ain't always, with smaller firms it often is but work might not be so consistent. The firm obviously either doesn't value the skill the lads have (which leads to a **** you mentallity) or the lads that coulda climbed it have done what I did and gone freelance as they know the moneys a joke and long term your gonna get pushed harder and be a better arb for it. There is however a lot to be said for a good **** job and many are plobaly just cruising along. Fair play when ya got kids, mortgage etc.
  9. Having worked both full time and freelance I clearly felt a big difference in my level of care as to whether I did a tree or not. In a big company its easy to hide when you're feeling less than on point, but freelance work means no cutting no pay. Working for a firm or freelancing seems to be the difference between plateauing and pushing yourself. Of course some have more drive or determination or even the most dangerous trait bravado and will achieve more than the dude that hides. Each to their own. What I do know is the smaller firms I've worked for tended to have better ethos, better time frames. Bigger firms seems to be smash it out on to next one.
  10. Use the middle hole if you ain't gonna use it for a lanyard or second line. Or change the hitch length.
