  1. My friend who has his business next door to me runs 3 wire erosion machines, would that be any good Stubby? He will not work for free, but is quite reasonable.
  2. Haha, Chris, if there was a prize you would win it!! It will hopefully just ease the chain brake spring over the little peg. I will let you know tomorrow if it works. I currently use a small screwdriver but it is always slipping. This should just take a second to do.
  3. It will be used on 2OOT and should just make life a tiny bit simpler. The parts arrive tomorrow so I will try it and post pics. Any ideas now? It only took 5 minutes to make, so if it does not help there is nothing lost.
  4. Take the praise Spud, you deserve it! For what its worth, I was reluctant to start my own business whilst I had the security of employment. So I put up with the stress (without really knowing that I was stressed) until the security came tumbling down with redundancy. I then started my own business and have never looked back. Sure, its hard work and long days, but strangely, from day one, the burden of the stress I had been unknowingly carrying, just lifted. Any problems I may have within my business are in my control, so I do not get stressed and as a result am a different person to the one I was whilst employed. I wish I had done it years ago. When the time is right, go for it.
  5. yeah, should have 5120 before 5119, but my brain is too slow.
  6. see post 5119 chris
  7. My wife loves our 05 plate Jeep Cherokee 2.8crd. Built like a tank, massive transmission, 161hp but not too large. Fantastic motorway car. It has certainly impressed me. Its a true off roader, will tow 2.8 t, weighs nearly 2t itself. Edit, not the
  8. They are not realy dogs, just reinforcements in the plastic, the MS 180 has not the power to utilise dogs, it will just stall.
  9. That will be '91', so that explains the problem, the chain is on upside down:biggrin: Seriously though, It is an Oregon 91 chain,(probably a low kick back one) so you will need a 5/32 file when you come to sharpen it. Your curved cut sounds just like a worn rail on the bar. The bar should not be worn in 3 weeks though unless it is not oiling. As others said, reversing the bar will prove this. If you do decide to ditch it, don't buy an MS171, spend a few quid more and get a 181, its far superior and has a proper grown up chain. edit, Oh, and welcome to the forum.
  10. Great news Richard!
  11. Haha, I will keep my eyes open, there are plenty more where that came from. Not looking forward to the cold weather then Dave?
  12. Its OK, I found it
  13. Its quite alright with me TGB, its just a bit of fun and I am quite happy to speak of it. But just so we can get back to machinery, and because no one is particularly interested anyway, this is what happened. I had just re-bushed the axle pivot pins of a Salop 8 tonne trailer. Lying underneath and trying to push the 50mm pin through, it would not go. So I took the pin out and shoved my thumb in. I could feel that the holes were not in line so operated the jack with the other hand, but it was metal to metal and slipped. The trailer dropped and the nice new, sharp edged bushes slid past each other like a guillotine. Quick and painless! And that was in 1985.
  14. When my No2 Pozidrive went blunt I turned it into this. Anybody know why?
  15. Not a planer, but there was a guy in hospital with me who had planed off 4 fingers from the knuckle side. He just had 4 finger length flaps of skin left. Poor guy.
  16. Way, way out guys.....like the wallet one though!
  17. Close, Richard. Keep trying.
  18. Haha, good answer Pat. But NO:biggrin:
  19. But what sort of machine? And in which year?
  20. That will be too thick then.
  21. That, my boy, is long story. At times that story involves Tigers, at other times its a Shark. Sometimes it is a maniac with a sword, or it could be a chainsaw. Sometimes its the prop of an outboard. Sometimes its was when I was tortured by the Mafia. The grandchildren do not know the truth, so neither will you.
  22. Haha, by coincidence so do I Eddy.
  23. That is a bit of a Kohler thing Pat. I have done a couple of those. Did the flywheel come off easily?
  24. This threadhas been a bit quiet for a few days, so I thought I might bump it with this video that I posted on another thread earlier. Sorry if its repetative for those who have already seen it.
  25. Well I got the camera out. It may be little late for the OP, but could help others.
