  1. Wayne wins a tenner Of course you're absolutely right Rich, and he did wear one, but in this staged photo he was about 10 feet off the ground in a tree by himself, so it was deemed unnecessary....
  2. First batch, loads to come, bear with me.... I think the first 4 are Joe, Charlie & Arran, last one is Jack
  3. Maybe you could go shopping at the 5 Shires Mobile Arb Store Made good time then dude, good to know you got back safe . You're more than welcome. My car still smells of pizza! I think Holly is missing you already... Photos to follow shortly, and a couple of videos off my phone if I can work out how to post them to youtube.... Anyone else take any photos or videos? Post them up!
  4. Yeah, how did that work out for you then Joe? Great day had. Thanks to all who attended and made it such a success, really appreciate it. Arran was the furthest travelled and is still on the road home now, serious dedication! I've got a fuzzy cider induced warm feeling at the moment, despite my toddler just throwing up toothpaste all over me, but once I get her to bed I'll upload the photos of the day. Rich has already put some on Facebook. For those who couldn't make it, we'll try to get another one in this summer if we can. Vince, it probably wouldn't have helped, you'd have come away wanting everything! Great atmosphere, great lads and perfect weather. Enjoyed it immensely. Like Arran said at the pub afterwards, how many careers are there where you work all week then do it recreationally at the weekend? Recreational shelf stacking anyone?
  5. I would agree with that
  6. I might be a bit slow in the morning.... Arran and I have just got in from the pub.... See you all in the morning, let's hope fora good day!
  7. I know, bit of a shame that! Obviously a bigger shame that the man himself can't make it but there's always next time. Think someone else has a spiderjack they're bringing.....
  8. One of the local authorities we worked for told us the same. Told them to get stuffed!
  9. Having had a final tot up after a few have had to drop out I reckon we could squeeze a few more in now if anyone has found themselves at a loose end tomorrow. Weather going to be beautiful, ground is dry so we have less restrictions on where we can go than I first thought which should open up a few more trees. If anyone wants in let me know, about 15 of us at the mo.
  10. Arran and I will be around Roy, give me a bell when you get down here
  11. Start low, no reserve, let the craziness make me a profit
  12. They only let you lot out one at a time anyway don't they? Stop you from overrunning England.....?
  13. No worries Tom, think Silky is going document everything I think you're the only one from your neck of the woods I'm afraid Vince....
  14. Just had a run round the farm, once the wind drops all will be well. Took a drive down through the ash coppice into the conny plantation to see if there was anything worth climbing down there, found a couple of 60'-ish connies and not much else... Was thinking, if our little trees are a bit on the small side, anyone who wants to could go for a wander into the Wyre forest which is 10 minutes up the road. Not sure what the rules are on climbing in FC woodland which is operated as a public park...?
  15. Neither can I. Although I could swap my sky tv subscription for it. Or drop the takeaways or odd nights in the pub. For what it costs no one who is working should be legitimately able to say they can't afford it. It's just a case of prioritising, same as a tax bill. While I don't need it it's not a priority, but like the BILLIONS of others who don't have it either, I'll be kicking myself and trying I come up with good reasons why I didn't have it when I find myself unable to work.....
  16. Unfortunately it is. That's why we should have income protection insurance. I know it's easy to say and perceived to be less easy to do, but everything we need to protect ourselves is there for the taking. I have a salary. I have no IPI. I know full well that if I have an accident one weekend up a tree and cannot work, that I have no means to pay my bills. I also know that I can't afford to pay for IPI because I choose to run 4 cars. Therefore, should I find myself up the creek I know full well, in advance, that it is my fault. I keep saying that I will get some insurance, but something always comes up. It's the gamble we all take. I won't expect anything more than 'told you so' if I find myself in an unfortunate situation. From my own mouth.
  17. I though that was just for renewals? We had to make full applications for assessment for both schemes when we joined, the our CHAS did auto renew our Safe, so I'm hoping that it will also work the other way round!
  18. Slightly easier than CHAS. If you have everything you submitted for CHAS then you should have enough. I've done both and found Safe to be even more pointless than CHAS. Constructionline takes the biscuit though!
  19. It doesn't, if the HMRC want to recover the money they need to go back to court to get an order of sale. I'd be highly surprised if any judge awarded one against a decent hardworking self employed person for a few grand in tax .... It's the big evaders they're after.... Of course, there are then plenty of those who it's about time were taken in hand..... Jimmy Carr....?
  20. Doesn't really count for anything special of you ask me. Even I'm NPTC qualified in that respect. I've got a driving license but i'm not Ayrton Senna....
  21. Seems fair enough. The government takes my tax at source. There was a recent thread about setting aside funds to pay the annual bill. It's not that complicated.
