  8. Who knows when I may be back in the uk may see what more I can do out here and then go from there.
  9. So after nearly 8 months and 30,000km of driving around Australia I'm on my final leg to Sydney to head back to work it's been a fantastic and would reccomend everyone to try it but the first few weeks back could be interesting.
  10. Fight club I believe I've never been able to change it pretty good line though
  11. Well happy new year one and all hope everyone had a great Christmas and new year. Not really sure as of yet what 2016 has in store for me I'm soon to be starting my 2nd year in Australia and it will be back to work in a month or 2 we shall see. Here's a few photos to bring in the new year.
  12. No work as of yet but around 15000km in around 4 months or so now brings me to the east coast. Work will have to be on the cards soon but 6 months off isn't too bad. Here are various shots of the west coast and the north of Australia.
  13. Professional work visa Matt you'll be good. Up to 5 years I think they can give you.
  14. Cheers guys I'll try my best to keep them coming. It's a great country and Been even better not working.
  15. Well the last few months have been so relaxed its been great. So I picked up a 4x4 and I've started my journey of driving around Australia. Headed west so far and been to a few old fire watch towers in woodland with the platforms at around 65 to 70 meters above the ground only way up is to walk up the spiral iron rods all the way to the top also walked through the valley of giants.
  16. So having not worked for over a month and travelling a bit of Australia I spent the last month in NZ South Island, for boarding and generally chilling out, I tell you it's the life not working I have to say. Also did the highest bungy in New Zealand. Here a few pics.
  17. I've been working on and off. That's trash depend on what lifestyle you lead I've gone not working for a month out here just to travel. There are some great opportunities out here though highly reccomend it.
  18. Cheers mate was a very busy site I'm glad I'm not having to work now 😀
  19. So final 2 weeks at work are nearly over and went out with a bang 2nd to last week was a big site 12 pines to remove all around 30 meter mark timber staying on site all rest to be chipped. Was a busy load of climbs Srt was great anchored in one tree for most of the time. I've now finished tree work in Australia for now I'm off to New Zealand for a month for more time off.
  20. After having a month away from tree work it's time to come back and earn some more money to fun the rest of my next adventure. I'm only back to work for a few weeks then I've gained my 2nd year in Australia, stepping away from tree work for them to travel enjoy myself. I may try and keep putting something up here.
  21. I'm now nearing then end of my work to gain a 2nd year visa it's been hard work but glad it's over I'm off to drive for 3000km through the outback in a few weeks then heading off to New Zealand to go skiing with a friend it's going to be nice to step away from tree work for some time I think.
  22. Over the Easter I had the opportunity to go to Brisbane and see some friends we climbed some large gums 50 odd meters in a national park and also had a good mess around in a smaller red gum. We also chilled in the city where he lives.
  23. Just to clear everything up there is no need to say anything to anyone I came to the company that bill works for at nearing the beginning of my climbing career and yes I knew well not a lot to be honest and Bill having over 10 years experience took me under his wing to teach me, which was absolutely fantastic. Yes quite a lot of the photos are not of me and may be of work we were all involved in but I do not say otherwise maybe I should or change the name of my thread I started this when I first got into tree work to help me improve. Both bill and Shane invested time and money into me to train and mold me into something better I think in the long run it has in some ways and I can't thank them enough. I got to a point in my life where I decided I wanted to travel after many problems over the years at home my first intentions were to step away from tree work for a year or two and that still is I'm currently working in Australia on to gain a second year working visa then I'm going to be travelling and no work I didn't fancy fruit picking you see. As for this I can see the fustration of bill having given up over 2 and a half years to do so. As for Ian thank you I came to work for Ian for a week of my time to volunteer as I needed to sign off some of my queens scout award. Thanks everyone. I will continue to post my travels once they start in the next month and I may ask the mod if the thread name. Can be altered Nathan
  24. Well sorry bill if all did not seem clear I have had a fantastic expirence working with you guys and never had a bad work for you yes quite a lot of the work is not me and I have gone to go travelling but have also needed to work to fund my travel as you well know you did this in the past all I can say is sorry but I will be in touch to let you know what's going on giving you a clearer picture. Like I say bill you are a fantastic bloke and a great asset to any workforce but I wanted to do something like travel nothing was going to say that it would be at the right time.
