  1. id have recomended that with the case quad trac and maybe the cat challenger!
  2. local investment group, looking into low impact logging, researched everything from hand thinning to heli logging, now i need to put info to best use!
  3. its too dear for me, the full option list is near 20k euro, i used a vahva jussi yesterday and if i buy one it will be the 400, very well built machine and nice to operate, the controls could be done better but cest la vie... no idea on the song though! thanks for feedback!
  4. the crane is distinctive! i havent seen the timber dragon with a real crane... the vahva jussi seems to be a good machine, i am going to see a 400 working tomorrow.. ive a 400 quad and an international the same as yours, thinking of upgrading the quad for a bigger one..
  5. they have more features but dunno if there that good
  6. anyone ever use one of these? going looking at a vahva jussi working tomorrow but this is really impressive (videos at the bottom) ATV Miniskotare Flakvagn Vedvagn Skogsvagn AvestaVagnen
  7. a few beers and axe throwing?????? sounds like a good night out around here!!!
  8. true, the axe throwing and climbing for charity sound like great ideas, my ax throwing skills would make the news for the wrong reason so i would just spectate! i know at the ploughing championships here (300 or there abouts machinery stands) the companys dont sell much, they go to show face and promote brands. last year while wearing a stihl jacket at the importers stand i wound up answering a few questions as i knew more about the saws than the office types who were there to promote the stuff.... got a free 5lt bar oil for my time! husqvarna had good demos there there version of timbersports, stihl had carving, saw sharpening and displaying viking...
  9. fair point about the costs, though i do think there has to be a new element brought to them to keep you interested, id like to see more equipment as theres a bad selection over here, thats why im going, im in the market for either a vahva jussi, farma kranman or avestavagen trailer at the moment and id like to see them so i could compare... i wonder what are the chances of seeing more along the same idea?
  10. i think if the show gets a good reputation people will travel to it! eg hillhead, or con expo in vegas, i really think that stands at shows should pull out all the stops and try to beat online prices for the day... why would you buy something and carry it around all day, then home when you can usually buy it local or online with no hassle?
  11. Westmeath, Ireland, flights and car sorted, roll on sept.... though i do think ill have to go someplace to look at quad trailers sooner!
  12. im going to apf, should be interesting! flying ryanair though if i buy a shackle ill be overweight coming home!
  13. rip, thoughts with all involved
  14. alpine tractors quad - tractor trailer? is it riko or what brand name?
  15. Hi, i am applying for a grant to expand my operation and need to make a business plan for low impact logging. i want to get a timber trailer for the quad, (maybe a bigger quad too) and im looking at the vahva jussi 400 and similar as a viable option.. im looking for pointers if someone has done similar feel free to share what angle you tried, thanks
  16. well local chap, tree surgeon firewood supplier wanted 350 euro just to knock a tree, nothing technical, an ash tree with diamater at stump height of around 3 feet, in a ditch i tink weve went well off topic from op but still wish him and anyone who trys the best!
  17. well ive no interestin having a row! im not 100% right in doing what i am doing but i think some people would like you to organise a business, do all the courses, get insurance, then think about getting business in and buying equipment..... im more practical than that, each to there own! thank you!
  18. i will do whatever i feel safe doing, ive harness, climbing saw, etc, im trying to start my own business so im skimping on the paper until i can afford it.... ireland is extremely expensive for courses and insurance, i will get there but for the moment im establishing myself trying to make a wage before i worry about the rest, the rest will be in place as it can be paid for
  19. and thank you tree monkey, ill bear that in mind!
  20. i think fair play to anyone who tries things for themselves, if your not trying your own when will you really challenge yourself???
  21. not great with camera and limited rope skills, come from a bit of solo rock climbing and afair bit of tree climbing so i think i might not be up to some peoples safety standards here but ill see, job isntfor a couple of weeks but ill try....
  22. sound! itll be a job for the 192t so!
  23. contemplating it, though few limbs and a house nearby! it would leave more money for me!
  24. fun fun fun! we need a challenge every so often
