I'm still cutting them now , but admit I'm starting to get nervous as some folk on here advocate spring /summer only ( and I have no reason to doubt them) . Is there an absolute deadline ? Good question hodge.

Ok , If members start posting things like ' until its dead ', ' when its head falls off ' or something to suggest they ACTUALLY would get some sort of sick pleasure from this then I would be EXTREMELY offended . If any members actually take Tommers posting seriously its them I would flush down the toilet , that goes without saying.

Lets nip this in the bud right here. Tommer has posted in my opinion a hilarious joke with some funny responses that followed. As I said earlier I have two cats , both strays, one an abandoned kitten who is now 18 and the other rescued 2 years ago from the extreme winter. Both would not have survived there situation. They are both dearly loved pets and I will have NO-ONE suggesting otherwise especially folk that don't have a clue about animals or their welfare. As long as the responses are kept above board and do not get out of hand there is not even an issue here.

Went to the physio this week after reading the threads on tennis/golfers elbow. Again like many members I was just trying to work through it. The answer is to not ignore it and get it professionally assessed.

I have the mcveigh parker catalogue here and Chestnut rail sawn posts (twin mortices) retail at £7.14 / metre + vat. Chestnut cleft rails are £8.13/metre + vat. -
I know I would pay good money to have my horses on paddocks as good as that. you could be choosy about who your clients were and get them to clear out their own muck etc.. A winter turn out area would be a bonus to keep them in tip-top condition.

There actually the easiest to climb and i always feel safe in them. As the other guys have said nice slender ladders gets you right up in there without damaging the tree.

Hello everyone , i've put a few comments in now so better introduce myself. I'm a qualified tree surgeon based in the north east of Scotland and a working/trotting horse enthusiast. I love the flora and fauna of the british countryside and always rootin about woods and forests etc so hopefully can come up with some interesting bits and bobs to contribute to this excellent forum. -And get a laugh or two along the way-

You'd love aberdeen taupo , pitch black skies and crystal clear winter nights. I tend to look at the stars in relation to the seasons as our anscestors did ( there is literally hundreds of iron age stone circles up here ) . Orion is popping up late on in the night sky which means only one thing , cold , wintery weather is on the way. Sorry I can't help you on the photography front but be sure and post any photos, I would love to see them

Friend told me the other day there that his colleague nearly lost his eye as a result of a bungee strap. He has unfortunately lost his sight in the eye. I'm getting rid of mine aswell.

Guelder rose does well up here in N-east Scotland , its a most stunning sight in winter the berries hanging like jewels. Added bonus it provides late on berries for some bird species:thumbup1: -

Lets get one thing clear here , PPE and health & safety is something I take very very seriously as does most people on this site. Believe me Blazer if a newbie who has just sat cs30/31 turns up at an arb company ( as we all have done ) looking like robocop he'll be slaughtered . I personally wouldn't participate in any berating of a new start and what I say is fact not a fashion statement as you suggest. I agree with you it should always be safety first
