  1. Sightings at cairnhill, west of Ellon apparently a regular visitor.

There is also a good picture of one spotted in Galloway which you can see online at ' wildaboutbritain.co.uk' .

Interesting about the blackbird grandad, its supposedly one of the commonest birds to show bits of white ( there is a good shot of a white headed one on the same site) and leucocytes aswell.

  2. thats cool an albino buzzards

were are they as i would love to see them

ps ther is a crow with white on it at uni the other week though we also had one at home too

I came across the albino buzzards on a local wildlife blog. It gave a grid reference as to where they were , i noted it down and if i recall correctly it was near Ellon ( i am a big bird of prey fan and would love to see them aswell ). I thought at first they were talking rubbish and that it might have been an escapee gyr falcon, but the photos confirmed it was indeed a buzzard.

I'll try and see what i can dig up ( you could aswell ) as this must be extremely rare.

I'm really pleased that someone else has seen the crows aswell ( and before anybody says anything there not hooded crows.

  3. Theres definetely odd sightings going about. Apart from having mature blackbirds with black beaks up here ( as highlited on autumn watch ) I have seen a crow with white underwing coverts , no it wasn't a magpie ! Was a wierd sight.

There is ALBINO buzzards in Aberdeenshire aswell, Not light variation.

Will post a video on here soon of the amazing thriftyness of buzzards soon !

  4. In the saxon region of the Netherlands we build easter-bonfires, and hold the world-record for the biggest one at 27m high!

This is a pagan ritual celebrated over here aswell.

I built my own wickerman this year after seeing a pathetic attempt on top of an old Druid hill ( i'm a bit of a pyromaniac aswell ).

I have amazing photos with fire coming out the eyes and everything !

Hope to post on here soon :thumbup1:

  5. Is that Strathbogie Saws?

And c'mon, Aberdeen/Huntly isn't too bad in the winter. Bit slow, maybe, but the same goes on all routes.

    Yes it is .

Spruce , lets be honest you are not going to go up to Huntly when you run out of fuel even if you are the stoicist environmentalist.

Saying that I hope to go up there soon and try this stuff

  6. The benefits of Aspen are not well enougth known, either by end users or by dealers. I became aware of it, researched it, convinced myself and became a dealer. I have had £53 added to my insurance and had to buy a £1000 flamestor cabinet ( an insurance requirement) I did not know how well it would sell, but am on the 4th pallett in the first 3 months. Many prospective dealers simply will not take the chance against an unknown market and with the low profit margin. If the prospective users let their dealers know they want it, along with rough usage quantity, the dealers may take it on. Its all down to communication. More outlets, better availability, more users.

Thats absolutely disgraceful your insurance being put up and completely unacceptable in this day and age of ' going green'

I can only applaud the stance you have taken and hope you can be a catalyst in getting this stuff on our shelves country wide.:thumbup1:

  7. It is not 'them' we should not be taking seriously but the current establishment that keeps the interest of the rich and powerful to the foremost. Not just the current establishment as they are but puppets too. There are so many better alternatives out there. Why don't we use them?:confused1:

Treecreeper, did you read my second sentence?

Did you read previous posts stating 60l a shot is not feasible for many of us on here?

I hear and agree with what you say but I like many unfortunately cant change the powers that be  Seems were at a quandary:confused1:

  8. Have spent the last few weeks there with the hedge trimmer at face height and I don't know how anyone can say its not an issue.

    Its absolutely horrible.

What is an issue is the closest distributor being in Huntly. An hour and a half round trip at best and practically impossible in winter.

Come on Aspen you need to do better than that.

  9. A really scary one filled by bearded odballs and rivet counters....scares the hell outta me:laugh1::lol:

    lol!!

A 90 with all the whistles and bells on it has been parked outside my house for the last week by the guy doing the neighbours decking . I couldn't resist any longer and went round the workers asking whos it was . Out pops an extra from Deliverance and an hour later my head was filled with a minefield of information!! Top guy though. :thumbup1:

  10. Dont underestimate getting your chemical spraying ticket cartman. I'm convinced its a sure ' backdoor ' ticket into the arbwork . The big arb companies will be fighting over you come spring time if you have this ticket.

But you will have the master plan!

  11. Surely the turning circle isnt worse than a defenders though is it?????

Its alot worse than the Defenders. I was definetely shocked when i test drove the defender though for being such a short coupled vehicle.

Sorry for going off thread but i bought my first edition of Land Rover Monthly and get the feeling I'm entering a different world. :thumbup1:
