  1. Been to BnQ myself today and got a nice 6 footer nordman for 35 quid, job done.

Btw Mrs Pedroski must be the only person in the world ever to buy a tree that is still wrapped up!:sneaky2::001_tongue:

Was at B+Q Aberdeen today and the 6ft nordmanns were £45 , seems you got a good deal there.

  2. Not expecting such a debate on the subject. We can forever search for new facts and figures on the subject but they are only one result from one group of scientists research into their particular hypothosis.

I am not well read on the subject but know that I would like to eventually work with horses as apposed to tractors.... Just after a little advice..... other than "buy a horse"....

There is a great little book called ' The horse in the forest ' by Hans Sidback.

Its a good little starter as its not to heavy going and quirky illustrations.

British Horse Loggers Association I'm sure would have it or possibly Amazon.

The Working Horse Manual is a good book aswell because it covers all aspects of working horses, from showing to ploughing and different harness configurations. This book is published by ' Farming Press '.

Hope that helps a little. :001_smile:

  3. Thankyou for all the replies.

I will definitely try the dealer to see if there is an after market fix, nothing to lose.

' Treewolf ' you have described the problem to a tee, very frustrating to actually have a land rover that blows hot air but my feet were still frozen!

Will see if i can rig up some sort of air deflector, failing that will try the rag.

    Thanks again everyone. :001_smile:

  4. Which one are we in? Nazi Germany or Communist Russia.

I've worked for the two biggest utility companies in Scotland/ uk and gloves were mandatory in both. If he is going self employed fair enough he can do what the hell he likes but if he is not then he better start getting used to wearing them. Experienced arborists advising new starts not to wear gloves is irresponsible imo.
