  1. check the roller box floor just behide the bottom feed roller and just infront of the anvil have had in the past were thay have worn and the anvil sits slightly pround and catches timber on the way in. if it is worn build it up with weld
  2. will have a look in are pile at work what belt are you running? spa/spz b section
  3. Stab in the dark Indian bean tree???
  4. have you rotated the anvil or fitted new??
  5. Reduce coil gap by about .1mm don't brim the tank and cut some wood bar length for about 10mins to let the carb sort it's self out. As recommend by a husky man I saw Tuesday there will be a tech sheet sent to dealers.
  6. Got a tidy up job left by a tree surgeon there is about 15ton of cord 20cm-40cm dia In various lengths from 3ft up to tree length can cut to length acsses is good would suite a tractor and trailer with grab but could arrange loading at extra cost. Eastleigh hants
  7. the day rate is mainly as a guide would be me and one other cutting on avarge say 8m3 a day for 4days then 1 cutter for 1 day and then me for 2 days on extraction even works out to be about £22m3, and the price for the other cutter is budgeted in at £75 fuel and saw provided. only down fall it relys on being in the same wood for a week Hampshire not that far from you
  8. Been mulling this over for quite a while feed up of being a spanner monkey and going self empolyed for what i trainned to do. long way off yet, your imput would be help me make my mind up. kit would consit of a agt835 with forestry cage, wheel chains and front blade. 3t winch and a timberdragon tc2 trailer which should have its ce mark but the time i setup. got the saws and tickets. done all my costing and want to charge a day rate which will be around the £300 do people think this about right (makes it easy for the bussiness plan) this rate does reflect in terms of m3 to roadside and ranges between £30m3 down to about £13m3. The comany is aimmed at small woodland owners farms with cut/extraction of less than 150m3 imput very very welcome
  9. The two scales are degrees and percent use the percentage scales as its easier to work out. Simple to use, stand a known distance say 20meters away from the tree look through the sunto and take the reading at timber height or what height you want to measure say 80% then take another reading to base at ground level say take this reading say 10%. Add them both 90% so that makes the measurement 18m. This is for level ground.
  10. Nice and easy. Take the spring off than take the bolt out with spacer that acts as a stop 17mm heads. Lift up making sure the uj is in the right place to do so insert bolt back in hole and rest the bearing carrier on this to aid support. If you want to take the whole thing of just a ring of 13mm headed bolts around to gear box or spur drive. Check the bearings In the top feed roller and if the feel iffy change them now as its a nightmare to do when they have gone.
  11. never seen that bit come off should be able to weld a bit in the as the flywheels are cut out of sheet steel unlike some which are cast, From what can remember think you can send it off to germany to have it repaired balanced and crack tested. you may be lucky to find a second hand one but as you know there built like tanks and last.
  12. Just wondering what bit broke off near the blade. Straight forward rebuild realy. Cut the bend blade ajusters off and get new ones made weld back on. When the fly wheel is out drill and tap the sheared vertical anvil bold with a left Hand tread ( easy outs snap don,t like them) if the shaft need replacing it needs heat and liquid nitrogen to get them out and in. Replace bearings and anvils. Just check the oil tank has not got punctured as this does happen. Rebuild a few that have had felling levers and track clips go in to them. If you you don't get anywhere speak to rob ant overland they took on what used to Willke recycling.
  13. 0.145mm to 0.185mm cold 0.0057 to 0.0072
  14. only used cf neilson piston presses first was a bp3200 round die with a cooling line making pucks. product going in was mainly pine wood dust including bark dust and some wood shavings mosture was about 9% made a good hard puck. second was a bp6000 square dies, lignin feed 20m forced air cooling line and bp350 saw. product was chip with no bark, put in a hammer mill with 16mm screens then dried to 12% moisture. made a ok briquitte. aslo have used large andritz roller pellet presses putting out 3.5ton an hour in 6 and 8mm dies. dont be fooled in thinking this is easy its not as easy as people think. type of wood helps make a better briquitte/pellet, woods like western red and larch are good as the lignin content is higher otherwise you can add lignin to make a better briquitte but does clog up in the infeeds. product moisture is another big one +-2% can have a large affect on how well it all holds. Bark is a problem as it will bring the ash content up in the end product and stuffs fillters and wears dies out quicker. ask away if you have any qestions and i will try to anwser then
  15. Think this is right 26.059m3 22.66ton this will reduce by 1.5% every 20 days after its cut give or take
  16. Quickest way it to weld a m8 repair washer to it then a nut to that. Drilling then is hard work as the tensile strength is 10.9 so hard. When you put them back in small amounts of copper or better butter still engine oil. If my memory serves me right they should only be done up to 45ftlb. Ps teng tools are rubbish
  17. Had a email at work saying that husqvarna have taken this on and are not supporting the spares for these machine. You may find a dealer with some old stock good luck
  18. once its looked in to its mind blowing, looking at the fc stats its going to be a uphill strugle and dosn't look possible. Taken as a average uk woods will produce 18millon m3 soft wood and 5millon m3 in broadleaf wood this does not take in to account coppice. One of the main problems that needs to be over come is the amount of woodland that is being used for pleasure by the FC and the 11million ha that are used for personal use ie owned by farms, phesant shooting, 4x4, horseriding ect. for example for people that don't know a biomass factory making wood pellets with two presses will need 460ton on average per 24hour so thats 167,900tons a year as they run 24/7 i know of 2 like this used to work in one. Then there other thing people over look is woodshavings that are made from round timber and average factory will need 105,300tons a year there are 3 of this type in the uk ,also know this as i worked in one. both these factorys arn't that good on the enviroment as all the product is dried from around 50% down to around 12% with either gas or coal. just my little add
