  17. Hi all looking for any feedback on any of the 20 tonne pluss PTO vertical spliters. Looked at most of the usuals Thor Poche Woodline. Just wanted any feedback good or bad? Hoping to pick one up at apf. Only concern i have is it possible with any of them to work at waist height? I know you can get optional tables for them that raise the height for splitting rings but it still doesnt look high enough. Can you sit splitter up in air to work at a comfortable height or does this interfere with the pto? We currently just use a cheap hydrolic one which we just hold up in air on 3 point linkage so its at about waist height? Cheers Jim
  18. Any one know when the third round of grants will be
  19. Yea spot on tractors we have had 2 or 3 in past with loaders on when we had 200 cows took alot of work with ease. Would of thought you would be fine upto about 8 tonne on back. Will defo want weights on front other thing with knocker will be when you have it out to the left or right having a set of weights on your knocker the opposite side to the weight. We welded a weight frame to our protech this year and what a differance its made when working over the side keeps it more stable and we have a mx110 on our knocker so would imagine a little zetor would be worse. The air compressor is the best thing though
  20. We used to use post crete but started using extra rapid cement which is 8 quid a bag and mixing it dry in a mixer at 4 to 1 just add water to hole same as post crete. Works same as post crete but cheaper done alot of small runs with it over last year or so and never had any movement on posts. Maybe doesnt harden quite as quick as post crete but certainly within a hour its good to go. Post cretes great till you hit a great lump of conc were you need a post and end up with a great big hole that uses 5 bags lol

  22. Tad unfair not allways the case. My dad and brother farm 280 acre no room for me. I run my own gardening/ landscaping buisness and the only help i got was the use of a shed and some hardstanding to store and cut firewood. Bought my own tractor to run splitter. All my own gear and am proud of it. They both support me immensly but when it comes to money i pay my way.
