  1. Pickup, Greedy Boards (optional) + Loadhandler. Sorted
  2. I've had both - several land rovers and three pickups. We now run a Hilux as those who saw us at the Arb & Forestry will have seen. In my book there's no choice - the Hilux wins hands down on driveability, reliability, mpg, comfort, payload and versatility. Sure I miss the landy 'fraternity' feeling but in mud and snow on 50/50 Grabber AT (the all terrain lookalikes) tyres its never let me down.
  3. Not the one's Andrew Strauss uses in his job [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5RCG1r4Nbs]Andrew Strauss smashes his sunglasses - YouTube[/ame] Another vote for Bolle Silliums when on site but Silhouette 8562 lightweight while driving / quoting / drinking etc
  4. Yes thanks Justin - have a great holiday Well done for organising this year's show in some very trying conditions added to the personal grief of being turned over at the eleventh hour. Thanks to Elaine for the admin and to Richard O for the site. Forget putting sheep back on it - just get a couple of hippos to wallow around. Great to meet the other show folk and so many Arbtalkers. We enjoyed the event and while we didn't have too many sales 'on the day' we took some good enquiries and gave away a load of cards and keyrings. Orders will hopefully come. Could have done with a few more people about but hey ho look at the weather and the conditions. Bigger events than ours have fallen by the wayside and we plugged on. When I left most people seemed to be free of the gluey stuff and Geoff T was on hand with his Merlo and chain just in case. Roll on Summer and thanks one and all
  5. Justin was praying for rain Every timed it pi**ed down heavens hard everyone on the showground rushed for his tent and spent loads of money!
  6. Hi there - apologies for the slow response, we are setting up at the Arb & Forestry event. You would need the LH2200M - (M for mid size) - we ship next working day. If you were to ring Sally in the office tomorrow 01732 763637, she would get it out tomorrow and you would have it Monday. Regards, Curtis

  7. All set up down at Shipbourne Off for a pint! Tip of the day (and tomorrow and Saturday): Just follow the Yellow Brick Road Well done Justin - was running like clockwork despite everything thrown your way. Thanks
  8. Elaine was still working at the coal face when I spoke to her today. You guys will have had one tough week come Sunday. Hearing the news from her this morning - it was unbelievable. Who says crime doesn't pay? It beggars belief that that sort of crime can be perpetrated and a large van or vans used to remove the kit from the scene - and then it's taken or stored somewhere and no one sees or knows anything or a 'passing police car' - especially in the Met - doesn't think the van is worth a pull.
  9. Did you get our email Jonesie? We want that last stand Curtis
  10. Are you the guy with the fuzzy face?
  11. Have you bought one munksapprentice - if so are you happy? Edit: p.s. - we still advertise on here, will donate for the raffle again and hope to be at Jones' show
  12. Looks useful to have the extra leverage to once it's rolling and you keep it square. Keyring on its way pronto to Hulls Mill Farm Chris
  13. Hey Daniel - thanks for the input. Send us a sketch......
  14. Leave the key-ring with me Stubby; they're collectable
  15. And come back with an ATM - machine paid for!
  16. Stubby, glad you're pleased. We've been using ours today cranking sacks of nitrogen fertiliser to the rear of the pickup to enable it to be lifted on forks into the spreader. Yesterday I delivered a load of logs to my brother-in-law, first thing in the morning I'll run the pickup that now has a load of grass clippings + weeds + some old rose prunings (all the wife's labour today) down to our 'tip'. I'm constantly amazed how easy it is to unload the hilux and how durable the dragsheet is. I've run mine for a year now and it's saved me lots of time and effort. Hopefully we sent you one of our desirable keyrings - we're at the end of the phone if you need us. Thanks again for the positive review Stubby, Regards Curtis
  17. Apologies for the delayed reply slack ma girdle - I've been up country and busy farming. Tonight I've sat down on the sofa with my laptop - scrolling through - while eating wild mushroom and parmesan risotto! First day I've been able to get on the land and have managed to get the fert on two of the fields. Anyway, back to your question. Sorry, we're not yet doing shows - we run an engineering business and small farm and quite frankly we're cr*p at marketing etc. Having said that we will do FR Jones' arb show later in the year as Kingswood's Richard Olley is a friend and it's just down the road. Hooking a Loadhandler up to a trailer is a question many ask - the LH operates by clamps that strap to a pickup's tailgate that usually drops - and stays - in the horizontal position. Obviously on an Ifor Williams, Bateson or similar, most tailgates drop to the floor therefore the tailgate must be propped horizontally - on a couple of suitable logs or stays - or a separate bracket must be fabricated to replicate a tailgate in the horizontal (a fabricated bar or similar) fixed to the rear end. The other issue on some trailers is that you need 'winding room' if the tailgate is low so that you don't skin your knuckles when cranking the load off. We must design a kit with a set of brackets to enable customers to fit a LH 2200 or 3000 to a trailer - it's a no brainer that if your trailer 'aint a tipper then a LH to crank of logs, chip or gravel, type 1, garden refuse etc would save a load of time and hard work. We'd willingly pay someone to come up with a design that can be manufactured easily and economically If you're that person - get in touch. Meanwhile, we've got detailed photos of the LH3000 components SMG - let me know if it would help to email them to you. Generally, we're pleased with sales so far, whilst not as busy as in the US - we've sold more in the first year over here than we thought we would and it seems to be growing organically although people don't know they need one until they see it in action. Apart from a few issues where loose straps have got caught up in the cranking and broken a bracket or two, feedback from users has been excellent and we're about to order another six months requirement from the US. Always happy to help if anyone has any questions Thanks for the enquiry SMG Curtis

  20. These are a by-product of their own business. Interesting that people don't want them They burn them themselves for factory heating but can't burn 'em all. Guess it's the free market economy and supply and demand. Mild winter - 'overstock' - sub-zero winter; 'out of stock' I'm sure they'll shift them before the daffs appear
  21. Colleague of mine wants us to offload circa 15tonnes of wood briquettes Packed, shrink wrapped and palletised - 14Kg/box, 66 boxes/ pallet therefore each pallet approx 924Kg Kin dried hard/soft wood mix - produced and stored inside a building In the region of £150 / pallet + vat with discounts for quantity Location Sevenoaks, Kent Can PM you with contact details Thanks Curtis
  22. I like that - reminds me of a feisty labrador I had once. His bed was in an alcove to the right hand side of the aga. Walls on three sides and a full depth shelf above. Getting him out if he had retreated in there wet and muddy was akin to a frontal assault on a pill box on a D-Day beach
