  3. Hi all! Im currently looking to purchase a Defender 130 for a tipper conversion, problem is the dealers etc are asking far too much money to build it! Can any one recommend a fabricator or buck builder that can make something along these lines? http://www.neneoverland.co.uk/4x4defendertippers/imgs/picture178a.jpg Barn doors on the back would be required Cheers Pete Hall http://www.greentreeworks.co.uk
  4. Did you find the problem in the end? My 150 had the same problem but I bypassed the no-stress via the control box inside the main compartment (so we could get the job done) and used the main controls to act as the no stress. Most recent problem now is that the machine loses power and the revs drop even on very small material, the whole chipper seems to make a strange vibrating sound too when this happens. Any ideas? Cheers Pete Hall http://www.greentreeworks.co.uk
  5. Hi all, as the title says, I'm looking for a supplier of seasoned hardwood fire wood for some friends in Sandy in Bedfordshire, (outside of my delivery zone) If any one out there can help then please PM with prices and quantities. Cheers Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  7. Hiya I too have a 200T which is about 2 years old and likes to die when I touch the throttle, not had any major work done on it, total pain in the rear end.
  8. Hydraulic, 3 or 4 wheeled, i'm after the pros and cons I guess as I'v only ever used a two wheeled pedestrian model, I'm pretty sure tracked would be alot more expensive. Cheers for the input Pete Hall http://www.greentreeworks.co.uk

  11. Had this myself down near Haverhill in Suffolk just before Xmas, they was on their way to cambridge so they said. I said no thanks and once they drove off I reported them to Cambridgeshire police with their Reg number! Doubt anything came of it. Peter Hall http://www.greentreeworks.co.uk
  12. 4 Ash - 1 Willow - 1 Maple - 1 Lombardy If you cant do the job the way its should be done then don't do it at all! That's why many of us train hard and learn the bio mechanics of the living organisms we work on. If a bricklayer puts a wall up on the p**s, stands back and says "it will be ok because it wont fall down right away" would you be happy? would you pay him? would you recommend him? would you have him back? The fact that the council does not seem to mind or care that this is happening to their trees is shameful! They are quick to send out acknowledgement letters telling us to work to BS:3998.
  13. These pictures are from Clare in Suffolk. As I said in the first post, this has been done to many street trees in the county, I phoned the LPA a couple of years back to enquire why this was being done and to ask if they knew what their contractors were doing, I was told it was the county council's contractors. Ah that's ok then........
  14. It would seem that the same people that dictate BS:3998 to those that take the time to apply for conservation and TPO work give their own contractors a Carte blanche to do this! This kind of work has been done on so many council owned street trees! So many of which will not recover from the massacre they have endured. Have I missed some training along the way that explains the reason for this mess? I cant see a single pruning cut, the trees might as well have been shaped with a giant hedge trimmer! Anyone else have an opinion on this?
