3. That's interesting, I started off many years back with mallet and chisels but switched to saws because of time. What would take a full day carving traditionally will only take an hour or two with saws. I just couldn't compete on price with edge tools. Still nice to work them when needed though 👍
4. I use a wide variety of tools, but I normally do everything with saws 95% minimum. Sometimes you need another tool but I would recommend pushing yourself with just your saws as much as possible. A lot of novice carvers fall into the trap of carving a bit, then sanding with grinder, then reworking with saw, then grinding again etc.
5. Thanks Stubby, yes it is a bit ambiguous, if the buyer thinks it's a wolf then it's a wolf 😉
6. Relief carving in cypress.

11. Thanks mate, just been notified my inbox is full, will clear some space 🐼
12. Would make more sense to carve a clean section from higher up and plant it in the ground. No one in their right mind would try and carve a stump with so much metal buried in it
13. Lovely wood, will it not suffer being cut in this heat? I cut some burry oak in similar conditions a few years back and the boards surface checked almost immediately
14. 10 ton, big old lump. Who's doing the carving then Steve?
15. Ah now I understand😀 I will have to look that up Alec👍 Thank you
16. Top one 33" long, now sold £160 Other one 36" £180 Not including posting Can do bigger, as well as replicating above. Pm me mate👍
