There should be a line on the top of the tooth. Thats the req minimum length if the tooth bud

Yep stay at an angle bud, flip line up couple steps and do over again. And as said urll be wasting a lot of energy stamping the spike into the tree and trying to pull it out again, walk up it with some force 👍

Had a willow with 3limbs like your picture. But the limbs where at 5-6-7 o'clock and wanted it to be loin tailed?? An old boy who used to be apart of the forestry commission!!
