  1. Of course it should only include people living in scotland! how would you feel if people who live in france voted in the uk general election?!
  2. The fuse has just gone once but it has coincided with the stop bar switch malfunctioning and not working after putting new fuse in. 2nd time in a month the stop bar switch has gone and 3rd time this year. This seems a bit high, could there be a reason it keeps dying such as a short cicuit nearby?
  3. Hi, the stop bar switch has gone on my tw125 but i only replaced it about a month ago and before that i replaced it in April this year. The 25amp fuse went in the ignition box at the same time as the stop bar switch stopped working if this is a clue as to what is the issue? Any help? I cant be arsed to keep buying a new switch for every week!
  4. Really like the idea of getting a top handle battery saw, but which is the better of the 2 to get? stihl is lighter but not quite as fast chain speed but big improvement from the previous stihl 160t, dont see the need to have a bar bigger than 10" on a saw of this size, whos got what and what do you think wins or not much in it? Im going to be using it for arb pruning.
  5. Does anyone have a generic risk assessment relating to the specific risks that arise when arb contractors have to deal with ash dieback trees that they can send or post a link to? Thankyou
  6. Can anyone confirm the id of these fungi? They are pretty far from the base of the oak but still be feeding of the oaks roots I assume?
  7. Mature oak with severe dieback in crown on roadside, noticed these fungi yesterday. Looks like honey fungus to me but which species exactly I’m not sure.
  8. Ah handy that’s something that I have already!
  9. Thanks for reply, crown was a bit thin for a beech in early September. Fruiting bodies quite far out on some roots. What device would be best to inspect with?a spade digging down a little to in see roots more? It is on a hedgebank
  10. Is this giant poly pore? Bad news I know if it is, how long would you say tree has left? The fungi is on the other side of tree roots also so all around the tree. There is a heavy lean over a driveway which is main entrance of a posh hotel so I think ASAP if it deffo is Meripilus cheers
  11. Anyone rate these boots? Does being the first boot specifically designed for arborist use mean they will fall apart if you walk around on the ground?
  12. Have a pair of meindl airstreams only couple moinths old and have been letting water in from the toes area, it is really annoying! contacted fr jones and they have to be sent in for 4 weeks to be tested so i will be without boots for that time! dont really want to spend another £200 quid on a pair of meindls that it might happen to again so what else are people wearing and recommmend?
  13. Just changed the stop bar switch as feeding in wasnt happening and its sorted 90%. However about 1 in 5 times the no stress comes on the forward rollers freeze and i have to press in the go switch again to get rollers to feed in again. Any ideas why this may be, maybe a loose connection somewhere?
  14. Is it possible to fit the newer black primer and the newer spark plug to the older ones, circa 2017?
  15. I bloody love the weight and the power especially after being ported but its always had an air filter that is very easily clogged and these recent ticking over issues really are making it a bit harder to like
  16. Not played with l or h screws, just had it back from spud month ago and it cuts great but just a bit shit on tickover but now it’s not even useable I’ve moved the tick over screw more than I can remember where it goes now!
  17. really having trouble setting the tickover on my 2511, it was increasingly cutting out whilst idling so thought id wind the T screw in a little but now it wont even tick over at all!!
  18. I have a pulley saver but the spliced eye on my rope is a pita to push through the pulley saver. What rope do you prefer with spliced eye is nice and smooth and easy to pass through pulley saver?
  19. Excellent makes me feel better about hammering them back!
  20. I have customer who wants to heavily reduce several 30yr old elms overshadowing green house etc. Do they respond well? will they survive?
  21. Not much chip getting in there!
  22. dont think it is the rollers as the squeaking is still happening when rollers are on stop
  23. nice one, will give this a go. Is there any other possible things the squeaking noise could be coming from apart from flywheel bearing?
