  1. They look amazing Steve. nice job
  2. Decent scrap is hard to come by at the minute.
  3. Collected the shower tray today. That will just be glued to the sub floor. I was going to overlap the sheets down the tray a bit and put a bead of sealant between. That should be enough to keep them apart right?
  4. Thx What do you think will happen if the zinc touches the stainless? Not going to be am everyday shower so sure it will be fine.
  5. That's a good shout. Wonder if I can find a scrap Caravan anywhere nearby.
  6. I love stainless. Can't afford it for the walls though. Shower room is 1m x 0.65m and 2.1m ceiling height. Stainless would be alot of cash. Second hand commercial kitchen stuff sells for alot of cash. I am collecting a stainless shower tray tomorrow although you won't see any of it as there will be a duck board on the floor. Standard box profile roof sheets are out in the rain alot and they don't rust in a hurry.
  7. Have you any experience of using thinned car lacquer on wood?
  8. If anybody has any more thoughts on my initial questions, particularly a discussion on the best way to finish a yew basin then Id be glad hear your thoughts.
  9. You really are a nob at times I have little Patience to argue with you so I won't say more than this. And I won't reply to your idiotic comments on this again. I have considered Everything thx. A 0.3mm sheet of steel doesn't weigh much more than a 4 mm sheet of plastic so no difference there. I choose to live and make the choices I can to do what I can. Holidays aren't pointless. Much better to ponce about the country needlessly than fly somewhere. So I will live. And why I am I will make the choices that I want to make, nothing to do with you. Doesnt effect you at all, and I really don't want your opinion or criticism of the choices I make, You do as you please I'm not judging or being rude. Try it
  10. Yeah I guess it would be. Yeah Basin will be well finished. Not sure what the best thing to use would be though. Might end up with an old copper bowl yet.
  11. There's one example. Millions more
  12. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/microplastics-detected-in-human-blood-180979826/&ved=2ahUKEwj9rruv4-72AhU1Q0EAHYx3AEMQr_oDKAB6BAgDEAE&usg=AOvVaw36j73halKVZHr9YYVU_QS9
  13. Bad for you, bad for me, bad for everybody else.
  14. My aim is to keep the weight down and not use plastic. Wood wouldn't keep the weight down. There are and some manmade Materials yes and some plastic where necessary. I don't think it's necessary on the shower so I don't buy it. I would much prefer to use recycled or reclaimed materials. I will probably end up using steel.
  15. Don't want to buy a load of unnecessary plastic, don't like the average plastic shower room in a camper. Feels nasty. Easily damaged
  16. The average laminate isn't plastic free though
  17. Yeah I am considering that. Space being a premium though I would prefer something thinner. I did wonder about putting some on some concrete and running a roller over it. Might try that with a old bit I have and see what happens
  18. Hey all. I am in need of a very small basin for a van I'm Converting. I'm considering turning a live edged one out of a very old yew log. See teak one alot quite Cheap but they are always too big. Any body have an opinion on this? Also anybody have any crazy ideas for plastic free shower walls?
  19. I was talking about a whole hole. Not a bit of one.
  20. If you take them screws out and redo you will probably close them gaps
  21. If you are screwing two bits of wood together like that, make sure that the piece of wood the screw goes into first has a clearance whole and not a pilot whole. Eg. A whole 0.5mm or 1mm bigger than the screw diameter. This will ensure that they pull together tight and don't get screw trapped between them keeping them apart. Nice job though
  22. Infact pm me your email and I'll cc you in the conversation.
  23. Great. Will message you with details
