1. Not sure mate, I really hope he hasn't me over
2. I have got a couple of free lance climbers very interested in my latest vacancy. So by next month I will have a completely new workforce. No wonder I have no hair and my OCD is so controlling
3. He's doing driving lessons and there is a train station just down the road but it's like he's not interested in exploring these options
4. Sounds very sus! But what can I do? He lives east side of Newcastle and busses in and home
5. I suspect another company if he finds one WILL put him chipping or dragging brash as their lead climbers not gona give up climbi g for dragging
6. He travells 3 hours a day but his gran only lives 5 mins down the road and when Simon the Bear is in he gives him a lift so he could reduce his travel down to maybe only one day per week
7. I've done all of this but he says it's the travell to and from work is too much and is looking fitr a closer firm to him. I'm not blowing my own trumpet but I think he''ll learn the hard way this time. I suspect he has had it too easy...
8. No chance of that now! How do you get in through to someone how lucky they are to have an opportunity?!?! He is adamant he is leaving this Friday, I even offered him my hilux as a company vehicle for when he passed his test but that made no difference :-(
9. Connor dropped a bomb on me yesterday by telling me he no longer wants to do his apprenticeship with me, he is leaving to look for a firm closer to where he lives. I wish him all the luck in the world I just can't help thinking he is making the worst decission of his career and he's only 4 months into Arb!!! Connor wake up and smell the coffee lad!
10. Just been chatting with a fellow arbirist who is in the the local authority, he tells me he took in his copy orBS3998 2010 for his boss as he'd necmver seen a copy Unbelievable!!
11. The position of Team Leader/Experienced Climber has become available at Chris Gill Tree Surgery Ltd. 12.

Hi Adam,

Just read your PM, Yes Paul is still working for me but he is having an interview at Kirkley Hall college for a job up there. Came as a bit of a shock but hey ho life goes on

13. Red hot up here mate, heading down the beach with the picnic , beach ball and kite . I love this hot northern weather
14. Been there Jon it fell apart so never again, biggest waste of money ever IMO
15. No flat-pack here, just blinds for the office as it's sooooooo sunny in Newcastle lol
16. £3 for a breakfast with a coffee in Ikea!
17. Where you based Scott
18. I could just see you skippering your own boat mate with Simon as your first mate
19. Scott I could not do without mine, I try and keep my trimmers for nice trimming and the rough cuts for the final levelling off of a conifer hedge reduction or and privit which is in need of a good hard hacking back
20. Keeping them mate :-)
21. Hedge trimmers matey :-)
22. Offup to Mr Gusthart for a new set of Stihl rough cuts
23. The fact was you both were doing your own work and could not give me the availability that I required at that time therefore I took on a full time experienced arborist/manager to deal with our work load. Neither of you had any sort of contract, both of you worked as and when required therefore I was well within my rights to pick and choose as and when who worked. I am sorry to hear you are so bitter about this but all of this was a year ago...??? I wish you both all the best in whatever line of work you are in and doing now. If either of you are still climbing good luck with everything and climb safe. :-)
24. Those two were casual staff, nothing more. I had needed a full time experienced climber for quite some time, when Paul came along it would have been a bad business decission not to take him on. You just need to look at what Chris Gill Tree Surgery have achieved this year to fully understand this
25. As yoywill all know Paul is changing his direction in this industry and I wish him all the luck and happyness in the world with his chosen path. This however leaves a position which I will need filling, I am not saying too much yet as I want him to find happyness and security in a new career choice before I appoint a new manager, however this said I know how hard it is to find 'good guys' in this trade so I am putting the feelers out... PM's welcome
