Since my wife and I split up and now live in separate houses I only get to see my gorgeous princess Josie half the week. I pick her up after school on Wednesday and drop her off at her mums on Friday evening, I also have her every other weekend... When I'm.Not with her it breakes my heart so when she is with me I really make the time count...!! Last night we had a picnic in the local park, Thursday night's we go swimming and Friday is party night. I'm trying to keep as much routine in her life as I can but it's hard running a house and business on my own... On a Thursday and Friday I don't start work till after I've dropped her at school and we finish at half 2 so I'm ready to pick her up again, since January she has really shown me there is far more to life than work. My new apprentice Matty Carr, currently studying his level 2 in forestry and arboriculture at Kirkley Hall. Matty came from a grounds maintenance company where he felt at the ripe age of 24 had reached his limits with cutting grass and strimming. He came to me with his CS 30/31 and trailer licence. Monday morning ritual is: Vehicle / Woodchiper inspection sheets, plenty business cards in the Bang Tidy, bowl of Alpen and a strong coffee...!! No better feeling than being fully prepared and firing on all 4 cylinders on my favourite day of the week.
