  1. Welcome Just like me, I am not in the industry but have learnt loads about wood seasoning safety etc.
  2. Not quite dead animals, but it's great for old bank ststements and letters with private details etc. Just saves that shreading process.
  3. Just managed to get into September without putting the log burner on although the Mrs is not impressed. It will be on soon if the weather keeps on like it does.
  4. In tend to knock the nail through with a punch and then a bolster to prise apart the boards.

    Ecofan

I have this 3 bladed fan in our current house and it works well but took some time to get the best location and direction for the fan. The room is 10m long with standard height ceilings. We have a Morso owl stove and it looks good with the fan. In our previous house the fan spent most of the time in the box as it made no difference where it was placed although the room was a lot smaller and the stove located in a smaller fireplace.
  6. I used to work in engineering and have used welding gloves for years with our stove and never had a problem with them.
  7. Hi Barry. New myself also.

Brendan Try John on 075381 23957 he does 3.5m3 about £140 150 loose delivers 15 mile radius of SK16. £75 a M3 from 079660 67842 Wigan. Mik Sharples 017722 50785 he is in Preston There is also a place in Cadishead area but dont have the number . Even buying in from some distance and paying the extra for fuel could still be cheaper than £315.
  9. Ask him to crack open that fruit/nutlet, my pound is on walnut

  11. As eggsarascal says this has been on a couple of times and the price has now dropped. Yesterday on the bay 1m3 of mixed wood with 10 miles free delivery covering the Manchester area did not even get a bid at £20.
  12. Put the ash around your garden beds it stops Slugs & Snails or mix it with water to make a paste and use it as polish for something, but I cant remember what.
  13. I've been fuelling my wood burner for the last six years on free arb waste, Same here now down to about 50% to 60% of arb stuff as the boys are loooking to maximise what they have. Also noticed the quality of mixed 1m cube bags going down as the portion of softwood has increased in my bought in stuff.
  14. Have a look at JB Weld or JB water weld amazing stuff.
