  1. I use one of those harnesses from the Easy Lift Guy. Keeps it out of the puddles:thumbup: Robins are a bit of an issue though, they do like to perch!
  2. I'd go for the 120. You could cut it down if you found it too long.
  3. You're a fine one to talk Mr "two acres"!! I've only managed to fill the scabbard once. That was straight after setting eyes on the new double headed felling axe from Buttmunch and Bannister:o
  4. You're not far wrong there Dinosaw, although I do err towards the studded neck collar and a five foot stiffened Yak leather broadsword scabbard to protect the 'old chap'
  5. I presume that is very rude but I refuse to give it any thought!
  6. I realised after I'd posted that reply that it could be mis-interpreted! I've got the small one (pickaroon that is) and was using it to flick split logs from the floor into my hand. Works fine until you fail to pick up a log and your momentum takes the point straight into your waiting palm!
  7. They are very useful tools, but don't get cocky with them (as I did), they hurt quite a bit when you embed them in a body part!
  8. People are animals too, and we're all pointless!
  9. That's a bold statement! I'm looking forward to this discussion.
  10. Do you think land prices will always rise from here on in?
  11. Very kind of you Countryboy, but as you can appreciate it would be nice to get out of the woods for a couple of days!
  12. You've piqued my interest now Stubby, what do you put on your toast?
  13. That sounds a lot more inviting Tommy:thumbup: bit far away for this time though.
  14. Not too fussed to be honest, we've got a pretty progressive set up at Idiot Towers. Be nice to throw off the shackles and try something a bit different:thumbup: Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll check them out😊 Keep them coming!
  15. Hi All, It's Mrs Idiots birthday coming up and I would like to organise 2-3 nights away somewhere, preferably in Eastern England. Have any of you stayed anywhere a bit quirky recently? Looking at late March/ early April, we like walking and eating. Can be self catering or B+B. Not really into hotels or guest houses. It's her birthday on Saturday so need to announce it then! Please keep in mind I am but a humble woodman and will need to be able to pay in acorns. A thousand thank you's TVI.
  16. Bit of telly, pick the bits out of my beard, that sort of thing. How about you?
  17. Plus one piece of kindling. (I forgot to account for the weight of the thimble)!
  18. Let's put it into a context we all feel comfortable with- Firewood and Football😊 If you had a set of old school scales with a thimble full of neutron star on one side, in order for it to balance you would need to carefully stack enough firewood on the other side to completely fill the new Wembley stadium 50 times over! Nope, that doesn't really help does it!
