To be honest I have not had a proper holiday since I was 18, but had the odd week end away and stuff, and chill out on occasions when work is low and slow, but on the whole I could really do with a nice holiday......think I might have a trip to the highlands before the year is out, and nip across to fort william and see my old mate Ben Nevis .....
  3. Excellent Steve... I guess it's always going to be a good feeling being evolved with something that's not also a memorial but later date will be something that's classed as a land mark for the town..iconic... Great photos.....
  4. Not been back to the 3 little fungi on the ash tree yet but will do ASAP, trimming a little hedge this morning and came across a piece of elder wood with these little beauties, Not sure on ID yet not had a chance to see, can't you tell I have a phone with a camera now 😄
  5. Seems strange for sycamore to hold like that? Especially that diameter and length ?
  6. Sounds like the speed of your cutting may well of been a factor here mate.... Just a thought. What diameter timber and what species was the tree ? Adam

Some truly majestic trees there David, and some very fine photography Living mainly on reclaimed land trees like that are hard to fine around here especially old wood land, there are a few exceptions which I have posted on here a handful, visiting a place like that though would be like Christmas Day when I was 5,

Not sure how well these will come out on your computer screens but the iPad zoom is quite good and keeps the photo clarity well, did a bit of drive by fungi today just caught these little suckers out the corner of my eye.....   11. Looks good James:thumbup1: reduction work is always challenging, I enjoy them, which IMO if your not enjoying them then its never going to be your best out come, agree with John, well planned climbs are the key.....

To all that have Pm me about coming, i have just received a date from Steve at ABC response first aid and the date we have gone for is a little further than first planned but hopefully still ok with you guys, looking at the the 11th of December, I will pm the people who I had spoken to just in case they miss this but looking like we have about 12 / 15 coming for the day which will be fun.... Was going to post mine old lock jack across to drew in Australia but never got round to it if you wanna meet half way on the journey instead of posting it then I will be more than happy to donate it on the condition I can have it back after you have destroyed it got a bit of sentimental value about it but you more than welcome dan:thumbup1:
