  4. Couple of suggestions, Don't put to much pressure of force into your cutting the saw its self will cut for you, doing this will only cause you to follow through when the cut is finished and hit the first thing which 9/10 times is your hand or arm, use a sling where possible to eliminate the risk of cutting yourself, and just generally think about what your doing not what you've got to do:thumbup1:
  5. Very nice david and 25.7m for a sorbus torminalis that is tall:thumbup1: And what a great ball roller setting the standards high from the start very nice mate:thumbup1:
  6. No mate sounds good, so overall mass aswel then
  7. Ok then maybe a long shot, but thought it would make and interesting thread if not it will burn just like my others idea is to find the tallest trees in your county's and if you look hard enough there are some Gems about, now for the rules. Rule 1.... Once you think you may have discovered one then you must seek permission and also explain what us is where doing from the land owner. Rule 2..... Every potential find must be identified correctly. Rule 3..... Every potential has to be climbed in order to measure them accurately, NO height, altitude, measuring devices allowed, TAPE only! Rule 4..... All Gems must be documented with photos, no exceptions. If anyone wishes to suggest any other rules then that's fine, its probably not going to be a great thread but I'm sure the information we can gather will be valuable information to someone Thoughts welcome Adam

  11. Then I look forward to seeing you speedline adventure mate:thumbup1:
  12. Not to put a dampener on you goal, but the word speedline does not necessarily mean its the quickest option but sometimes can be the easiest, it can be gear intensive or it can be as simple as you want, either way will show its benefits, I find speedlining great but there's a time and a place, with out the to 2 together it's not worth it, this is of cause my opinion, but best of luck to you with it, I'll be doing a piece on speed lines on the rigging thread in the new year mate... My new year resolution to quit smoking, get fit and loose a stone,
  13. I'll get a better picture up mate, but basically it goes on as normal and sits on the frame of the spike,
