  3. haha that reminds me of a group that came into where we were working all 'we have a right to go anywhere anytime' I was in the middle of giving him an earful about the fact that regardless who or what he was he wasn't going anywhere till the guy up the tree said otherwise his mates turned round and cycled away leaving him there somewhat deflated when he noticed :lol:

  5. a few years back a large elm was felled and removed in Leith links park nobody knew a thing! mind you they did leave the branches nicely stacked for chipping
  6. was a conversation in relation to work boots and veggies that I heard about them, never looked myself though so cant be sure, don't know what there called either, lotta help me
  7. there is a company in france that makes work boots (not sure if they do chainsaw or not?) that use leather from cattle that have died of natural causes if its an animal welfare issue?
  8. up here posties must be more sensible , haven't seen one yet that hadn't waited till we said ok come through the other one that gets me boiling is people who try to drive round you when you have a stop/go board :sneaky2: I've had one go to overtake the four cars already waiting I stood infront of him and let the all others go first another idiot just accelerated round me almost took out a guy on a bike! he almost got the board through his back window!
  9. get it all the time does my nut! had it almost come to fisticuffs before one site we had signs, info posters, barriers, tape , a huge pile of brash add to that a foot path that was eroded away to bugger all and a horse on site, we watched with amazement as a group of joggers clambered through the lot when we told them they couldn't pass got a load of threats and abuse one big ugly t**t threatened to throw me in the river if I didn't move! well I didn't and he didn't, was funny cos you could see he was used to bullying people to get what he wanted, just started looking panicked and dodged round on the banking would have made my day if he'd fallen in the idiot at the front was yelling at rest to just shove us out the way and we couldn't stop them even said he'd kick our heads in!!.... funny he only said that one from a safe distance :lol:

  11. anyone regularly use an open fireplace? I am moving house soon and it has an open fireplace in it , but other than the occasional one, I've grown up with stoves, any pointers? obviously avoid sparky wood

  19. no chance this stick is gona go ontop a load it is a load! jus wanted to know how much before i got practical problems with weight over the back etc, im guessing with the axle being quite far back a couple of metre should be ok? its a street tree so no dragging can be done
  20. how much overhang do you think I can get away with on this trailer? the bunk is about 3.5/4m , got a big sycamore trunk to shift and want to keep as much length as possible, getting something else in is not an option

  24. didn't have a sling long enough so tied this up, even broke the shear pin in the winch! but the rope didn't budge!
