my self i like repairing old valve radios i,ve got 15 now lol but only run two all the rest are on my tooooooo it"" pile as i search the net for old second world war parts for them i love the old warm tones they belt out all made around 1952 but made from old left over army surplus after the war so new bits are just not there so have to pick up from ebay> atic sales> bootys etc

hello i,ve cooked on my woodburner boiled the kettle etc but find when i try to do a stew etc i have trouble slightly burn sticking food to bottom of pot would a trivet thingy work as i,am new to this a think i need a air gap so to speak instead of pot on flat cast iron on top of stove etc the meat etc falls lovely slow cooking etc but burns bottom of pot thus a pain to clean make a nice brew though all for nowt no lecky no gas no standing charge no vat etc etc etc lol

i thought of area colour coding inc notches dia grinding fins to relate owner in that area etc sw nw se ne etc etc then a picture on here if it gets nicked etc scuffs scrapes n all like a data base but keep it upto date ???????? would be a pain to get rid and police could access to return to rightful owner then too BUT WOULD THEY BE A**ED or just send to auction for policemans ball sold with police reciept etc ?????

Repairing vintage valve radios just the insides lol i dont like taking the outside history away etc and the odd tv for my family oh and love course fishing in france when i can afford it that is I know i,am odd but love the tones and sounds of an old radio when i,am tinkering in my man shed out the way etc and can say i fixed that 50/60 years old etc some second world war stuff parts are hard to get hold of so have to do the bootsales etc for old radios etc

alternator shorting me thinks take the wires off it see if fault goes away etc when field coils breakdown it causes a back feed through earth and lights the dash like a chrimbo tree but might be wrong lol i,am only human but want to help

BUY AN EX RAILWAY CONTRACTORS 2 STROKE BUZZ GUN WHAT THEY USE FOR FITTING THE RAIL SADDLES VERY VERY VERY POWERFUL INCH DRIVE ETC I,VE USED THEM IN THE PAST AND THEY JUST BLADDER TRUCK NUTS OFF ETC loads better than a lecky one just a tank of two stroke lol IDEAL FOR U BOLTS/BODY BOLTS ETC

As i,am just a logburner so to speak i got to ask this is there a listing available for whats hardwood whats soft wood as i hav,nt a clue as i did ask an expert and his reply was best way to test if its hardwood was belt it with a hammer you will know hardwood with the rebound and sound his he winding me up ? please help me to learn how to tell etc easy way ideas please ??

my little dog is a cearn yorky cross and can almost talk to me etc little wuffs etc to let me know someones coming through the gates and if he,s on the loose they just dont get in lol all i see is a person anyone infact going back through the gate at speed lol

NO LOL were all bone idle lazy buggers ask your wifes and i,am greatful for all your posts as i thought it was me giving into the dog being a softy etc but they are your eyes n ears when asleep well there suppose to be lol mine snores farts dreams dithering wimpering on bed at times waking me up etc i was going to move him back down stairs to sleep but hav,nt got the heart

i lent my mate my trailer to pick aconcreat garage up and he said when loaded he could,nt back it up hill as the brakes where coming on as i,ve never had this problem yet what would could be the cause before i end up with the trailer brakes in bits or am i wissing somthing as i,ved owned this trailer for 5 years and never had a problem ???

I would be greatfull if i,am doing wrong here but seem to be bonding more and more with my little dog now as i have caved in and started to let him sleep at the bottom of my bed only when he,s clean lol is it ok or should he be kept downstairs as he,s got a cage that he uses in kitchen and a large kennel in yard HE,S A PET NOT A WORKING DOG REMEMBER but goes everywhere with me if iam out hes out etc guarding my jeep n gear anyone goes near my jeep he gives them a nice toothy smile lol

Can ii ask who on earth would want to steel one of these machines is it for exsport use of for this country ?? I just dont understand how people could steal from someone else there is no trust or shame in the loss and hardship caused i hope the people who stole youe machine have bad luck for the rest of there days there just rotten people thats done this makes my blood boil to stoop so low i feel for you but will keep a look out for you -
I HOPE THE OLD SAWs ARE BETTER as i picked up from my mates a solo rex chainsaw looks like its never been used its got a bar but no chain and as for compression it scares me its very hard to pull over i bet it sounds nice when running i was stood near his workbench and spotted it under the bench right at the back its like new untouched etc like i said loads of compression i bet its a bugger to start etc i just got to sorce a chain for it etc as the drive sprocket looks massive compared to the modern stuff
