    I'm not a pro user so take this with a pinch of salt, but I bought some Haix Tibet Forest boots which have had light use. They do however feel comfy, extremely well made and very protective (read mega chunky). They will take some breaking in, but I rate them and would buy another pair if mine were stolen (I'll never wear them out lol)

    According to the website no. There is no OEM saw blade listed. HUSQVARNA 143R-II - Brushcutters However if one fits in theory it's feasable. It's a brushcutter, designed to run either nylon trimmer line or a grass blade. Clearing saws have shorter shafts, beefier engines and small hard guards behind the blade to stop you chopping your toes, shins, legs off. Buy a clearing saw if you're cutting saplings, save the Brushcutter for weeds, thistles and grass.

    Within reason anything can be fabricated. However if there's an on the shelf part it might be a lot less hassle. I'm sure spud is the best person to answer this, as he's The Saw Whisperer by all accounts.

    Just a pot shot. For a less aggressive grass deterrent, a few shovels of rock salt might do the trick if re-applied every few weeks. Cheap and safe for the fluffy bunnies and tree pixies. I know there's a few on here that advocate this method for killing neighbours lawns....

    Sobering thoughts Andy. I think a few of us will treat reading this thread as a warning shot to slow down, relax, watch our diets and stress levels and cut back on the things that 60 years ago would have been considered 'treats'. Modern living standards and cheapness of food and drink mean these things become staples in our diet. You can have too much of a good thing!

    :thumbup1:I think it's a lovely tree, and the village is very 'Midsomer Murders' in setting (although I loathe the programme is has some nice English village locations). I think the tree should be saved. Print some T-shirts, start a petition, dance around it swinging corkers and then get the local rag to come on side. I want this tree to live. P.S. I admire your politeness and restraint in the face of some rather caustic retorts to your plea. I'd have bitten big time All power to the wonderful tree!

    I tried this technique and had little success. The wool cycle (it turns out) is too gentle and cooler than a standard wash, added to the fact it agitates the clothes (phones) less than a normal wash. As a result only two numbers (both taxis) and one picture of my shins and feet (a mistake) actually leached across. I tried again on a 3 hour 60 degree cotton wash with MUCH better results. Thanks Peter.

    Found it in the small ads. Was initially dubious and did my research. All turned out to be kosha! A nice lady who was sadly widowed had been burgled and her late husbands saw taken in the raid. The insurance insisted on like for like replacement, and as she had no need for such a saw advertised it privately for a good discount. Even got the supplying dealers paperwork, PDI chitty and insurance paperwork with it. I am a very happy boy. As for the saw-off, I'm sure you'd win with your blue 'pro-monster' even with that ridiculous long murderers bar on it
