  3. im no expert in chainsaw trousers but we need to see what were dealing with......
  4. Tbh alot of it is already sown up and rates are total crap, you can get people doing it for as little as £20hr - £30hr, contractors see it more of a way to keep machinery and men busy through quiter times wich leads to silly prices. Not only that it takes few years to cut to a good standard. Aaron
  5. Can i have a business lesson Tom??
  6. No such thing as a recession, its just how life is these days unfortunatly. As for other industries what industry is there that is not saturated......there isnt, look at agriculture, building trade, high street shops, supermarkets etc etc, though competion in every thing. just gotta make the best of a bad job and enjoy! 9. used to work for contractor down south where we would forage bracken of the forest and would also forage rushes of the marsh down in limington, all we used was a an old kidd direct forager with a 6 ton silage trailer behind that, used to do a great job.
  10. done a few miles in one, will second the sun between the visors, very annoying, bit noisy but i worked out it cost about 16p a mile to run, which i thought was good. Generally thought it was a half decant van and there cheap.
  11. the more the better. farm it for the subsides and go along the route of rare breeds sold locally at farmers markets etc. you may not be rich at it but you'll be living the dream of many. land is also on the up, its meant to rise 6%over next 4 years and if you borrow at todays rates you'll still make money on it, long term investment.
  12. unfortunatly theres only couple of acres so not really worth the hassel of biomass. As for fire wood its not big enough.....yet, id of said theres only 2-3 years growth but my customer is certain its 5.
  13. went to see a customer today bout some bits and whilst i was there i was shown there willow coppice, about 4 - 5 years growth on it, originally planted for biomass for there house but its now not viable. Are there any good uses for it? shame its not hazel:sneaky2: Aaron
  14. To keep badgers out you'll wana go deeper really, 2ft would be better with and electric fence. There serious animals, but if they want in, you'll do well to stop them. Aaron

  21. If i was you for the hassel of having the work done, cost and then may be even struggling to sell it after personally i would stick it on ebay for £250 and anything else if a bonus.
  22. get in touch with a company called ram fast, do a full range. Theres a 40mm stapler, nail guns right the way up to full size 4inch+ for post rail etc, your looking at £1500 for two guns and petrol compressor. Aaron
  23. Evening all! im just running a few 'out of the box ideas' like you do . does anyone know if one of the above such as the jcb one run a post driver etc?? Aaron
  24. i can honestly say that yes when the landy was running i loved it, but something would break all the time, cause major problems with work trying to fix dam thing, parts are cheap and its a good job. iv had a ranger since, far better motor, as comfy, reliable, and a good set of tyres ok off road. how many people really need serious off road performance, put jap against landys on same level/general fields there not alot of differance really....
  25. An eagle owl i had whilst still young. Aaron
