    Competition...

Doesn't matter what industry your in theses days there's so much competition and there's always someone cheaper. All you gotta do is ride it out with quality work and reputation and watch the others come and go. Go subbing etc to fill in gaps. No shame in that. Takes time to build up a company especially as clients will have to sieve through the crap to find some one decant. I think we forget that customers can find it hard to find someone genuine in a saturated market.
  4. Faulty trailers I'm afraid.
  5. Scraggs, I had my ifor down on my Ag policy and this time round I was told it was to go on my commercial policy with the truck?
  6. I'm with nfu, they were the dearest for me but there the only company that will cover it parked on site, no one else would cover it left else wheeee over night even though they cover contracting!! 30k implement, trailer cover as standard.
  7. Thought they were 3.5 ton towing, 7 ton train? I may well be corrected though.

    trailers

I looked at nugent at last years Lamma, they looked excellent in build with some nice features but they are a heavy trailer compared to ifor. Iv no doubt they'd last though.
  9. It's well worth a look, Knarly horrible bits it seems to just take in it's stride, would easily hold it's own against 190, probably not if your just chucking in max diameter cord though.
  10. Have to say Iv had the 6inch safetrak for couple of weeks and it's very capable, chips as well if not better than a 190 timberwolf and it's gone places you wouldnt dare take most. Good tool.
  11. How much is there to do?
  12. Any picks adrian? I think butlers had a small one for sale recently?
  13. To just install post and rail looking at £4.5m inc nails.
  14. Chris theres a 1650 on eBay, might want a tidy but could be worth a look at.
  15. Always worked on roughly 10hp per ton. 8 ton will be well matched.
  16. Quicker in direction changes, manoeuvring and access, tractors a lot slower, might get a little more on, that's it.
  17. Disagree about tractor verse skidsteer, skidsteer will run rings around a compact tractor!
  18. Yamaha grizzlys are thirsty. Artic cat diesels are painfully sluggish. The petrol models are good value for money! Honda seem to be living of there reputation but I personally think there getting left behind, and are one of the dearer bikes. Kawasakis I don't know much about. Suzuki is a cracking bike! (King quad) very smooth, good power, comfy and tough! You can buy a 750 for price of 500 honda. Had both and I prefer the suzuki.
  19. Now I generally use a quick fencer, strain one end and tie of the other. Stretches where we use clamps well pull in the middle and join with crimps. Found the cheaper brands of wire bad for loose line wires. Most common cause of this though is when the net is tied of some are tighter then the others or the net is tied of at a differant angle to the ground if that makes sense? Used a few g paks and liked them, trouble is it soon adds up and puts few pence on per meter and we all know what farmers are like. I use t clips on horse netting and think there great!! Saves a lot of time but yet to see long term effects. Trouble is every time you tie of its an extra £6! Aaron
  20. Cheers I use medium gripples but twist of both tags to prevent the wire slackening if the gripple fails. I double up with 2.5 wire loop. As for joining i don't use gripples, use crimps instead. Aaron
  21. Some more recant photos.
  22. If there's concerns of services forget all ideas of augers etc, you will hit them and not know until it's too late. Hand all the way.
  23. Contractors my way are paying max £8 for lads, young lads, treat them like dogs, doing mega hours from March to November, Kit gets treated well because its all top of the range and brand new, that's how they keep lads, they just want the nice kit. If you can get £12 sat on a tractor fair play. Thing is, nice kit is great, but when you've spent a 100 hours in it that week you never want to see it again!
  24. Mines been good and reliable, bought last November and just turned 18k. Has had three recalls carried out recently but as stated Iv had no problems. In general for the money, warranty and on paper there's not a lot that will compare.
